Supporting essential medicines for flood victims in Chuong My district

On behalf of the Hanoi health sector, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hung donated 100 packages of physiological saline; 155 packages of essential medicines for treating eye diseases, skin diseases, and digestive diseases to serve the prevention and treatment needs of common diseases of people during the flood season.

Immediately afterwards, a working group from the Hanoi Department of Health directly visited and encouraged the people and inspected and supervised the medical response work to serve the people at the Nam Phuong Tien Commune Military Headquarters. This is a concentrated shelter for flooded households arranged by the commune government.

As of the afternoon of September 12, more than 60 people had been evacuated to the Commune Military Headquarters, most of whom were elderly, children, and people with underlying medical conditions. Medical staff on duty here have organized good health care and encouraged the people's spirits.

Through on-site visits, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hung highly appreciated the efforts of the district's medical staff in recent days. At the same time, he requested the General Hospital and the Chuong My District Medical Center to send more staff to be on duty and support people in flooded areas; continue to proactively ensure conditions for medical examination and treatment, first aid; instruct people on measures to prevent and control common epidemics after floods, instruct on environmental sanitation, and treat water sources to effectively prevent and control epidemics.

Acknowledging and thanking the timely support of the Hanoi health sector, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chuong My district Nguyen Anh Duc affirmed: With the essential medicine donated by the Hanoi Department of Health, the district leaders will immediately direct the allocation, giving priority to the elderly, children, and people in difficult circumstances in the district for timely treatment.

It is known that in recent days, due to the impact of heavy rains and floods, some communes such as Nam Phuong Tien, Tan Tien, and Hoang Van Thu have been severely flooded. To ensure the safety of the people, the district has proactively deployed the work of evacuating people from flooded areas to safe places.
