Revealing special details of the 2025 Tien Phong Marathon Flag Raising Ceremony

In 2025, many major celebrations will take place, such as the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025) and the 135th anniversary of the birth of beloved Uncle Ho (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), the organization of Tien Phong Marathon 2025 in Quang Tri has many great meanings.

As we know, Quang Tri was the first province in South Vietnam to be liberated, the springboard for us to move forward to completely liberate the South and unify the country in 1975. Before that, Quang Tri with Hien Luong bridge across Ben Hai river was the place that divided the border, separating the North and South after the Geneva Agreement in 1954, causing "the same river but clear on one side, muddy on the other, sharing the same bridge but one side is shameful and the other is glorious".

To recreate a part of history, the National Flag Raising Ceremony on the Hien Luong - Ben Hai Banks of Tien Phong Marathon 2025 will take place on Saturday (March 29) on the north bank of Hien Luong Bridge. In a solemn atmosphere, a 4-member honor guard carrying the national flag, along with 4 armed forces consisting of 150 people, will march from north to south, symbolizing the soldiers of the past who crossed the Ben Hai River to liberate the South and unify the country.

The National Flag Raising Ceremony on the Hien Luong - Ben Hai Banks of Tien Phong Marathon 2025 will take place on Saturday (March 29) on the north bank of Hien Luong Bridge.

The flag-raising ceremony also had the participation of 30 students, representing the future generation as well as the aspiration for peace, joining the singers to create a choir, singing heroic songs of a time when "cutting through Truong Son to save the country, the river brightened up the future".

Next will be the emotional moment, when the national flag is raised on the Hien Luong flagpole, which was rebuilt according to the original model in 1963 with a height of 38m, while everyone sings the national anthem with pride.

When the red flag with yellow star flutters on top of the flagpole, the ceremony to honor the national flag takes place with the participation of leaders of Quang Tri province, members of the Organizing Committee, contestants of Miss Vietnam 2024, students and runners participating in Tien Phong Marathon 2025. This is a moment symbolizing the triumphant song, the theme of this year's tournament.

According to journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper , co-head of the organizing committee, "through the Flag Raising Ceremony, the Organizing Committee wants to tell the story of the tradition of patriotism and national pride to confidently and firmly move towards the future, just like Quang Tri from a battlefield today has risen to build the future.

In addition to the Flag Raising Ceremony, Tien Phong Marathon 2025 also held many other humanitarian activities, such as offering incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at Truong Son Cemetery, Road 9 Cemetery, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel; releasing flower lanterns on the Thach Han River; and donating gratitude houses in Quang Tri province.
