Ms. Tran Ha in Hanoi, whose child took the SAT test at the Banking Academy testing site this morning (March 8), said that when her child was almost done with the test, the system suddenly stopped 13 minutes before the official end time. Some other testing rooms that held the test earlier were fortunately not affected.

"The supervisor asked the candidate to stay and wait for a solution, but then let him go and wait for a specific solution via email," said this parent.

Similarly, at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology exam site, Ms. Thu Hang said that when there were only about 25 minutes left until the end of the exam, the system automatically submitted her child's test.

“My child was disappointed because he did quite well on the test today. I hope the College Board will soon have a solution to fix the problem, allowing candidates to retake part of the test instead of the whole test because each time they take the test, they have to endure a lot of psychological pressure,” Ms. Hang expressed.

College Board - the owner of the SAT test - is still reporting the incident and looking for solutions to help candidates who encountered the problem.

Meanwhile, IIG Education, the unit authorized by the College Board to administer the SAT test in Vietnam, said that this morning's incident was due to a global College Board system error. Candidates who took the test before 11 a.m. were not affected, but candidates who took the test after 11 a.m. encountered the above situation.

The SAT includes Reading - Writing and Math sections, is a standardized assessment test widely accepted for university admission in many countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, Singapore... In Vietnam, many universities also use this test for combined admission or direct admission.

The British Council has said that in some cases, contingency plans are being put in place to ensure transparency for all candidates.
