(NLDO) - Despite the cold weather from early morning, thousands of people eagerly attended the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.
On December 21, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 officially opened for free to the public and visitors after two days of activities exclusively for professional visitors.
According to the announcement from the Organizing Committee, the exhibition will open at 9am on December 21. However, from early morning, the area around the two entrance gates of the exhibition at Gia Lam airport on Nguyen Son street (Long Bien district) was bustling with long lines of people waiting for the opening time.
The event not only attracted people in Hanoi, the exhibition also received attention from people from neighboring provinces such as: Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, ...
Mr. Vo Quang, a veteran from Hung Yen, shared: "Our group arrived at 7am to visit and experience all the exhibition areas. This is a rare event, so everyone is excited and eager to witness the remarkable progress of Vietnam's and international defense."
The event not only attracted the attention of parents and veterans, but also children who were eager and excited to see firsthand modern military equipment and technology at this event.
A student representing class 8A of Yen Phong Secondary School (Bac Ninh province) shared: "I feel very proud to see that Vietnam has so much modern technology. This is the first time I have seen with my own eyes modern weapons and equipment such as tanks and fighter planes. We also got to experience guns and cannons, it was really interesting."
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Gia Minh's father, said: "I want to bring my child here so that he can understand more about the country's defense strength. This is also an opportunity for him to learn and discover things that no book can bring."
According to information from the organizers, up to now, more than 140,000 people have registered to participate in the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024. When participating in the exhibition, people need to present their citizen identification card or passport. The organizers also recommend that people register in advance at home to avoid having to queue, and people are also free to record and take photos when visiting the exhibition for the purpose of widespread communication.
Vietnam Defence Expo 2024, hosted by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence, will take place from December 19 to 22 at Gia Lam Military Airport, Long Bien, Hanoi. This event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defence Day.
