Ham Cuong - Ham Thuan Nam: Received certificate of advanced new rural standards

BTO-The People's Committee of Ham Cuong commune has just solemnly held a ceremony to announce the receipt of the certificate of meeting the advanced new rural commune (NTM) standards in 2023. This is the first commune in Ham Thuan Nam district to meet the advanced NTM standards.

After achieving the NTM standard in 2018, Ham Cuong commune focused all resources and promoted the spirit of solidarity, determined to complete the criteria to achieve the advanced NTM commune. By the end of 2023, Ham Cuong commune had completed 19/19 criteria for an advanced NTM commune. To achieve the above results, the commune has mobilized the entire political system to participate, in which the locality has both sought support from superiors and effectively mobilized organizations and individuals... to contribute to the construction of rural traffic to increasingly meet the travel and transportation needs of agricultural products and goods of people and businesses...

Since the implementation of the Advanced New Rural Development Program, the rural appearance of the commune has continued to have many positive changes, the material and spiritual life of the people has been gradually improved. By the end of 2023, the average income per capita/year of the commune was 57.69 million VND/person/year; The number of poor households according to multidimensional standards accounted for 0.36% compared to the total number of households in the commune.

95.66% of the people in the commune participate in health insurance. The traffic system has been invested in, 100% of the roads have a minimum design that meets the technical standards of the Ministry of Transport; 100% of the village roads and inter-village roads are clean and beautiful: no stagnant water or mud on the road surface; 97.29% of the alleys and hamlets have a design that meets the technical standards of the Ministry of Transport. The commune has a cultural house, sports area and stadium... facilitating the organization of cultural, artistic and recreational activities for the people.

Currently, 99.7% of the commune's agricultural land is actively irrigated and drained. The commune has Phu Cuong Dragon Fruit Cooperative, which operates effectively and stably. In 2022, the Cooperative signed a contract to link production and consumption of dragon fruit with Khanh Tram Company with an output of 725 tons, and at the same time signed a contract to link supply of agricultural materials with Nhan-Nguyen fertilizer dealer with an amount of 83.7 tons of various fertilizers. The commune has 2 OCOP products achieving 3 stars...

On this occasion, 9 collectives and 16 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement to build advanced new rural areas in the locality were awarded certificates of merit by the People's Committee of Ham Cuong commune.
