Durian price today 31/3/2025 in the world
The price of durian on March 31, 2025, in the Mekong Delta region, showed stability but was still affected by the export market, especially China. Currently, the purchase price of Ri6 durian type A ranges from 73,000 to 75,000 VND/kg, while type B is at 53,000 to 55,000 VND/kg, and type CD is around 40,000 to 45,000 VND/kg. The price of floating goods is lower, only from 30,000 to 40,000 VND/kg. For Ri6 VIP durian, type A is 80,000 VND/kg and type B is 60,000 VND/kg. Thai durian grade A costs from 120,000 to 125,000 VND/kg, grade B from 100,000 to 105,000 VND/kg, and Thai VIP grade A up to 140,000 VND/kg. Musang King remains high, around 135,000 to 140,000 VND/kg, while varieties such as Chuong Bo and Sau Huu range from 70,000 to 90,000 VND/kg for grade A.
Vietnam's fruit and vegetable export market still depends heavily on countries such as China, the US, Japan, South Korea and Thailand. However, since the beginning of 2025, exports to China - the largest market - have continuously plummeted. In the first two months of the year, the export value of fruits and vegetables to this market reached only nearly 306 million USD, down sharply by 39% over the same period last year, accounting for 44.5% of the total fruit and vegetable export turnover of the country. In particular, durian is the most heavily affected commodity. In January 2025, the export turnover of durian to China was only over 18 million USD, down 74.1% compared to the end of 2024 and down 83.2% compared to January 2024. The main reasons come from reduced demand and fierce competition in the international market.
Although the domestic purchase price today, March 31, 2025, is still at an acceptable level for farmers, the pressure from weakened exports may cause domestic durian prices to face the risk of falling in the coming time. Growers need to closely monitor to adjust production and sales plans in accordance with market developments.
