Ha Tinh Customs collects more than 4,033 billion VND in budget

As of June 26, Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department collected import and export taxes of VND 4,033 billion, down 29.35% over the same period in 2022.

In the first 6 months of the year, Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department carried out customs procedures for 7,750 declarations (an increase of 7% over the same period in 2022) for 312 enterprises operating in import and export (XNK) through the area. Thereby, Ha Tinh Customs increased the total import and export turnover of the province to 3,069.9 million USD (an increase of 8.6% over the same period in 2022).

By facilitating customs clearance, Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department has collected more than VND 4,033 billion for the state budget, reaching 36.8% of the assigned estimate (VND 10,968 billion); down 29.4% over the same period in 2022 (the same period reached VND 5,708 billion).

The budget revenue in the first 6 months of the year decreased compared to the same period last year due to the general difficulties of the world economy after the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected import-export activities through border gates in the province. In addition, tax refund policies under Decree 101/2021/ND-CP of the Government and tariff reductions under the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) also affected and reduced the import-export tax revenue of the Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department in the first 6 months of the year.

It is forecasted that in the last 6 months of the year, the socio-economic situation will continue to face many challenges due to the impact of the world economic context. Therefore, Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department will synchronously and drastically deploy solutions to facilitate trade, improve the effectiveness of State management, and prevent tax losses to complete and exceed the State budget revenue estimate for 2023.

In the first 6 months of the year, the Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department handled 92 administrative violations, collecting VND835.33 million for the state budget; presided over the discovery of 5 cases (including 4 smuggling cases and 1 case of illegal transportation of fireworks). The seized exhibits included 2 packages containing components for assembling gun-shaped objects, 8 boxes of explosive fireworks, 20 boxes of redbull, and 9 electric fans.

In addition, the Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department also coordinated with the Son Kim Commune Police (Huong Son) to detect 1 case of illegal firecracker transportation, with seized evidence including 81 boxes of explosive fireworks and 1 pineapple firecracker; coordinated with relevant authorities to detect 5 cases of drug transportation, with seized evidence including 58 pink pills, 26 kg of crystal meth and 710 grams of heroin.
