World gold price today April 12, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4am today, Vietnam time, was 3,230.83 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 2.44% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,994 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 101.2 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 4.0 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold has broken above the $3,200 mark as a weaker dollar and escalating geopolitical tensions stoked fears of a recession, sending investors flocking to the safety of the precious metal.
Spot gold rose 2% to $3,236.67 an ounce by 11:20 a.m. ET (1520 GMT), after hitting a record high of $3,243.82 earlier in the session. Gold prices have risen more than 6% this week. U.S. gold futures rose 2.4% to $3,253.20.
"Gold is clearly seen as a preferred safe haven in a world turned upside down by Trump's trade war. The dollar has lost value, and US Treasuries are selling off sharply, as confidence in the US as a reliable trading partner has diminished," said Nitesh Shah, commodity strategist at WisdomTree.
The U.S. dollar index (.DXY) fell against other currencies, making greenback-denominated gold cheaper for overseas buyers. A combination of central bank buying, expectations of a Federal Reserve rate cut, geopolitical uncertainty and massive inflows into gold-backed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have also supported gold’s rally this year.
US producer prices unexpectedly fell 0.4% in March, but tariffs on imports are expected to push inflation higher in the coming months. Traders are now betting the Fed will cut rates again in June, with around 90 basis points of cuts expected by the end of 2025.
“A small correction (for gold) would not be surprising, but the path forward is up as CPI and PPI numbers give the Fed more room to cut and will continue to put downward pressure on the dollar,” said Tai Wong, an independent metals trader.
Non-yielding gold, a traditional hedge against global uncertainty and inflation, also tends to thrive in a low-interest-rate environment. However, certain developments could limit gold’s upside, UBS analysts said in a note, including “an easing of geopolitical tensions, a return to more cooperative trade relations, or a significant improvement in the U.S. macroeconomic and fiscal backdrop.”
Spot silver rose 2.7% to $32.05 an ounce, while platinum rose 0.2% to $939.80. Palladium rose 0.6% to $913.65.
