Gasoline prices drop sharply, to lowest level in 4 years

The price of RON 95-III gasoline (the popular type on the market) decreased by VND1,710, down to VND19,200 per liter. E5 RON 92 decreased by VND1,490, down to VND18,880. After adjustment, the price of RON 95-III gasoline is now at its lowest level in 4 years.

Similarly, oil products also decreased by 1,120-1,320 VND per liter. Compared to 7 days ago, diesel oil decreased by 1,230 VND to 17,240 VND per liter. Kerosene and fuel oil have new prices of 17,410 VND and 15,900 VND, respectively.

The world oil market in the past 7 days has been affected by many factors such as the increase in US crude oil inventories, the country also announced a 10% tax on all imported goods... The above factors caused the world oil price to decrease sharply, the average price of finished products per barrel of RON 95 gasoline was 75.3 USD, down 11.2%. Similarly, each barrel of diesel and kerosene also dropped to 79.5 USD and 79.7 USD, both down about 9%.

According to Circular 18 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from May 2, the mechanism for managing gasoline and oil prices will change, there will no longer be an interdisciplinary group of Finance - Industry and Trade as at present. Instead, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will announce the base price and selling price of gasoline and oil products based on input data and written management opinions of the Ministry of Finance.
