Ha Tinh adjusts retail electricity prices up

From November 9, 2023, Ha Tinh Electricity Company will adjust the average retail electricity price according to the direction of Vietnam Electricity Group.

Accordingly, the average retail electricity price will increase to VND 2,006.79/kWh (excluding value added tax) from November 9, 2023.

This adjustment is equivalent to a 4.5% increase compared to the current average retail electricity price.

Ha Tinh adjusts retail electricity prices up

Ha Tinh is currently selling electricity to over 470,000 customers.

It is known that before the adjustment, the average retail electricity price was VND 1,920.3732/kWh (excluding value added tax), adjusted from May 4, 2023 according to Decision No. 377/QD-EVN dated April 27, 2023 on adjusting the average retail electricity price of Vietnam Electricity Group.

On November 8, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 2941/QD-BCT regulating electricity prices, promulgating retail electricity prices for groups of electricity customers and retail electricity prices for electricity retailers.

According to calculations by Vietnam Electricity Group, for customers using household electricity, after adjusting the electricity price, at level 1 (0-50 kWh), customers will pay an additional electricity bill of up to 3,900 VND/kWh; level 2 (51-100 kWh) will increase by up to 7,900 VND/kWh; level 3 (101-200 kWh) will increase by up to 17,200 VND/kWh; level 4 (201-300 kWh) will increase by up to 28,900 VND/kWh; level 5 (301-400 kWh) will increase by up to 42,000 VND/kWh; level 6 (from 401 kWh and up) will increase by up to 55,600 VND/kWh.

Basically, this electricity price adjustment will ensure that poor households and policy families are not affected significantly.

According to statistics, in 2022, over 1.27 million poor households and social policy households nationwide will receive electricity support according to the Government's policy. Poor households and social policy households will continue to receive support according to the provisions of Decision No. 28/2014/QD-TTg dated April 7, 2014 of the Prime Minister.

Poor households are supported with a monthly support level equivalent to the amount of electricity used by 30kWh/household/month. Social policy households with electricity use of no more than 50kWh/month are supported with a monthly support level equivalent to the amount of electricity used by 30kWh/household/month.
