Lesson 1: New generation industrial capital
In April 2025, as the whole country looks towards the 50th anniversary of national reunification, Binh Duong continues to make its mark on the Vietnamese industrial map with strong steps: approving the planning of Bac Tan Uyen 1 Industrial Park with a scale of nearly 800 hectares, deploying an inter-regional infrastructure system, and welcoming a new wave of FDI investment - environmentally friendly, integrating high technology. No longer a land of "processing specialists", Binh Duong is clearly shaping its role as a modern, green, digitally applied and sustainable development production center - a "new generation industrial capital" transforming to welcome the development cycle of high-tech - green - smart industry.
Green capital opens a new cycle
Binh Duong has attracted more than 43 billion USD in investment capital, ranking first in the country. Notably, this capital flow comes from large corporations with high requirements for technology, environment and infrastructure capacity.
On April 9, the $1.3 billion LEGO Factory officially opened in VSIP III Industrial Park – Tan Uyen. This is LEGO’s first carbon neutral factory in the world, using 100% renewable energy and integrating the most intelligent production line today. The first batches of products with the LEGO brand “made in Binh Duong” have been ordered for export to many international markets, making a strong impression on the image of a modern, green and integrated industrial land.
Not long after, Pandora - the world's leading jewelry group - also accelerated the construction of a production complex in Tan Uyen with a "zero emission" orientation right from the design stage. Large retail groups such as Aeon Mall and Central Retail continued to expand their systems in Binh Duong, integrating modern logistics centers, forming an efficient, smart and cost-saving consumer - delivery network.
International corporations all agree that Binh Duong is a locality with strong implementation capacity, clear investment procedures, and an increasingly civilized and convenient living environment - suitable for experts, engineers and high-quality workers.
Meanwhile, FDI enterprises that have invested in the province for many years continue to expand their scale. Mr. Nguyen Viet Thanh - representative of Kumho Tire Vietnam Co., Ltd. (My Phuoc Industrial Park - Ben Cat City) said: When the province set a growth target of 10.5%, the enterprise fully supported it. With the current development momentum, Kumho believes that it can meet that expectation well.
Kumho Tire Vietnam Co., Ltd. is currently one of the leading tire manufacturers in the region. Established in 2007 with an initial investment of 308 million USD, by 2021, the company increased its capital to 608 million USD, expanded the factory by 6 hectares, and increased its capacity to 12.5 million tires/year. In 2025, Kumho plans to implement phase 3 with an additional capital of 300 million USD, bringing the total investment capital to 908 million USD, with an expected capacity of 17 million tires/year, aiming for global technology and environmental standards.

Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, emphasized that the locality does not choose growth at all costs but prioritizes investors with environmental responsibility, applying clean technology and smart production. Rolling out the "red carpet" is a necessary condition, but "rolling out the green carpet" is a sufficient condition for sustainable development.
Along with LEGO, a series of other international giants such as Pandora, Aeon Mall… have also expanded their investments in Binh Duong, creating a new generation of industry. The common point of these projects is the high requirements for the environment, technical standards and integrated model between production - logistics - consumption.
Infrastructure launch pad
Not only attracting investment, Binh Duong is also a locality that proactively creates a "playground" for new generation industry. In the second quarter of 2025, the province will simultaneously implement many large infrastructure projects such as: Saigon riverside road, Ring Road 4, An Tay river port, expanding regional connectivity with Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and the Central Highlands.
In particular, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province has submitted to the Government a pre-feasibility study report on the urban railway project No. 1 - Binh Duong New City - Suoi Tien (Ho Chi Minh City), with a total estimated investment capital of VND 56,301 billion. The project is about 29.01 km long, starting from the center of Binh Duong New City and connecting to Suoi Tien station (Thu Duc City), passing through 4 major cities of the province: Tan Uyen, Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An and Di An.
The main section is elevated, combining transit points and connecting to the Ho Chi Minh City metro system. When completed, this metro line will not only help shorten travel time between Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City after the province's merger, but also strongly promote regional connectivity, develop urban logistics, support the smart urbanization process and increase investment attractiveness.

“Binh Duong does not develop alone. Each route, each capital flow, each new industrial park is a connecting link in the overall regional linkage from the Southeast to the Central Highlands and reaching the whole country” – Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Minh said.
Along with infrastructure, the province is promoting digital transformation and developing high-tech integrated industrial parks. Projects such as VSIP III, Cay Truong, and Rach Bap are expanding towards green and smart factory standards, using renewable energy and strictly controlling emissions. Clean land funds are prepared in advance and planned synchronously, helping to shorten the implementation time of investors.
Currently, Binh Duong's economic scale is recorded at GRDP of more than 520,200 billion VND, ranking among the highest in the country. As of early 2025, the province's economic growth in the first quarter reached 6.74%, much higher than the same period. Exports exceeded 8.5 billion USD, budget revenue was more than 24,700 billion VND, up 32%.
Not only increasing in quantity, Binh Duong is also shifting strongly in quality: developing clean industry, encouraging investment in high technology, modern logistics, renewable energy. According to the Provincial Planning to 2050, Binh Duong plans to develop 48-50 industrial parks with a total area of over 25,000 hectares towards a production and innovation area associated with integrated regional services.
At the same time, environmental protection in industrial zones is also given special attention. All 28 operating industrial zones have invested in centralized wastewater treatment systems with a capacity of nearly 190,000 m3/day, with wastewater connection and exhaust gas treatment rates meeting standards of over 95%. The Provincial Industrial Zones Management Board is developing a set of criteria for evaluating ecological industrial zones, as a foundation for comprehensive green transformation.
From a traditional industrial province, Binh Duong is gradually becoming a destination for high-quality capital flows, a place where green technology, modern logistics and global human resources converge. The transformation from a “manufacturing factory” to a sustainable and innovative industrial center is not only an inevitable trend, but also a strategic development choice for the province.
Binh Duong is not only affirming its role as a modern industrial center but also showing its vision of sustainable development through a green, high-tech and smart-connected production ecosystem. With a proactive regional linkage strategy and the spirit of creating a new, effective and harmonious growth engine, it is also ready to 'join forces' with Ho Chi Minh City to raise the quality of development to a new level.
