The latest update on the power outage schedule in Hanoi on June 7 on the website of Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI) shows that the number of districts in Hanoi on the "temporary power outage" list has decreased significantly compared to previous days.
Many inner-city districts such as Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Dong Da, Thanh Xuan, Nam Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Tay Ho, Hoang Mai or Thanh Tri, Dong Anh, Soc Son districts... no longer have areas with power outages.
People in Bac Giang City (Bac Giang Province) rushed to buy generators to cope with power outages in the coming days, as the province prioritizes supplying electricity to manufacturing enterprises.
In Ha Dong District, Son Tay Town, and Hoai Duc District, many streets, residential areas, offices, and businesses continued to experience power outages today. The minimum power outage duration was 1 hour, and the maximum was 4.5 hours.
In Hoai Duc district, some businesses in the area, in Yen Son industrial cluster, had their power cut between 6am and 9am.
Meanwhile, according to the announcement of the power outage schedule on June 7 in Bac Giang updated by Bac Giang Electricity Company, this locality continues to be the epicenter of widespread power outages.
Today, Bac Giang has more than 200 areas on the "temporary power outage" list and many areas have lost power all day, starting from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Notably, the list of local power outages today includes many administrative agencies such as the district People's Committee headquarters, the People's Committees of communes and towns, police agencies, tax agencies, schools, etc.
Previously, on June 5, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province held an online conference with the Northern Power Corporation, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and 300 manufacturing enterprises in the area to thoroughly implement electricity saving and deploy a plan to adjust power supply applied in the next 20 days.
Bac Giang Electricity Company announced that many wards in Bac Giang City had power outages all day due to lack of power source.
According to information at the conference, Bac Giang is an industrial production center that EVN prioritizes for electricity supply because it is the industrial production center of the country.
However, from June 6, Bac Giang will prioritize providing electricity to businesses during the day to maintain production, and at night prioritize electricity for people's daily activities. Businesses will start production from 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m., during this time they will receive continuous electricity.
Enterprises in industrial parks and clusters with urgent orders must register with the industrial park management board and the electricity industry to receive electricity, but can only produce from 0:00 to 5:00.
Faced with the power shortage and blackouts that have occurred in many northern provinces and cities in recent days, on June 6, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Official Dispatch No. 517/CD-TTg to the Minister of Industry and Trade; Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises; Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities; Chairman and General Director of EVN and the following corporations: Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) to direct the implementation of solutions to ensure power supply in the dry season this year.
The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade and EVN to review and carefully assess the current electricity supply situation, especially emerging factors affecting the assurance of electricity supply; urgently develop proactive scenarios to promptly respond to difficulties in electricity supply and organize implementation according to regulations, completing this work before June 10.
At the local level, the Prime Minister requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to closely coordinate with EVN and power corporations/companies to implement savings and have scenarios to respond to difficulties in electricity supply in the coming time.
Also in this telegram, the Prime Minister assigned the Minister of Industry and Trade to direct the establishment of a specialized inspection team in accordance with the law on EVN's electricity management and supply from January 1, 2021 to June 1.
