(HNMO) - In the next two days (May 21 and 22), Hanoi and the provinces and cities in the North and Central regions will continue to experience severe heat, with some areas experiencing particularly severe heat. Around the night of May 22 and the day of May 23, thunderstorms will occur in the North, ending the heat wave that has lasted for many days.
The Northern Delta Hydrometeorological Station said that due to the development of the low pressure area in the West, which was then compressed to the South by the continental high pressure area in the North, tomorrow (May 21) and May 22, Hanoi will continue to experience hot weather, severe heat, and in some places, especially severe heat. The highest temperature in the city center and districts: Ha Dong, Hoai Duc, Gia Lam is 37-39 degrees Celsius, in the South and North 36-38 degrees Celsius; the time of hot weather with temperatures higher than 35 degrees Celsius is from 10am to 5pm.
Due to the impact of the strengthening continental high pressure, from the night of May 22 to May 24, Hanoi will be cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms, strong Northeast winds at level 2; the highest temperature on May 23 will only be 31-32 degrees Celsius.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 21 and 22, the remaining provinces and cities in the Northeast will continue to experience hot and extremely hot weather with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-39 degrees Celsius, with some places higher than 39 degrees Celsius.
The provinces in the Northwest and from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen are extremely hot, with some places experiencing especially hot weather with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 37-40 degrees Celsius, and some places higher than 40 degrees Celsius.
Notably, from the night of May 22 to May 25, the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. The Northwest region will still have hot weather on May 23. Provinces from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen will still have hot weather on May 23, with some places experiencing severe heat. From the evening of May 23 to May 30, this area will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing moderate to heavy rain.
