At around 6am, a fire broke out on the ground floor of a rental house with decals on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Ward 6. People inside the house used mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire but were unsuccessful.
The fire caught on the decals, the glue flared up fiercely. Seeing black smoke rising to the floors, 6 people in the house (three children aged 3-9) ran to the balcony on the third floor to call for help. At this time, the smoke was still billowing, blackening the wall.
Minutes later, dozens of police officers and many fire trucks arrived at the scene. Police raised a ladder over 20 meters high, approached the 6 people and brought them to safety. Firefighters then used a hose to put out the fire on the ground floor.
