To be proactive in operating the system and providing electricity during the Lunar New Year 2025, Phu Tho Power Company has developed a plan to ensure safe electricity supply, prevent and fight fires and explosions; organize 24/7 on-duty work as well as prepare human resources, vehicles, materials and equipment, ready to handle situations during Tet.
Viet Tri Electricity workers maintain transformer stations to ensure stable and safe power supply during Tet.
Phu Tho Electricity Company is currently managing and selling electricity to more than 440,000 customers in the province. To improve the reliability of electricity supply, meet the electricity demand for production and business, serve people's daily life and serve political, cultural and social activities and events in the province, the Company focuses on investing in and building the power grid. In 2024, the Company completed 57 projects with the main scale including new construction and renovation of 77.5km of medium-voltage lines; 242.2km of low-voltage lines; installation of 105 transformer stations with a total capacity of 21,490 kVA.
Comrade Pham Van Chuc - Deputy Director of Phu Tho Power Company said: "In order to ensure electricity during Tet, the Company forecasts the load, calculates the operating method, voltage diagram, real-time operation of voltage diagram and plans to cut and close medium and low voltage compensation equipment according to regulations. At the same time, directs the affiliated power companies to transfer and share the load of power lines and transformer stations carrying a load of over 80%; ensuring safe power supply to event venues before the Lunar New Year holiday".
The affiliated power companies also proactively work with local authorities to grasp the time and location of festivals and ceremonies, ensure stable power supply and perform well in customer service during the holidays; fully prepare spare materials, equipment, communication systems and means of transport, and be ready to quickly handle any damage and incidents that arise.
In addition, assign staff to be on duty 24/7 and receive customer feedback to promptly handle incidents. Do not perform work involving power outages on the grid from January 25 to February 2, 2025 (ie from the 26th of Tet to the 5th of Tet) except in cases of force majeure or special circumstances. Phu Tho Power Companies and high-voltage grid enterprises increase inspections of fire prevention and fighting equipment, means, and labor protection equipment of units.
Along with the work of strengthening the power grid, the units have stepped up propaganda work to electricity customers, advising people to comply with regulations on safe distances from low-voltage and high-voltage power grids; and to use electricity economically. Customers need to pay special attention to checking the power lines in their homes, preventing and stopping the risk of fire and explosion due to electrical short circuits. People should not shoot confetti with metal-coated strings, not release sky lanterns, fly kites, and not play with flying discs in areas with or near power lines, electrical equipment and power stations.
The Department of Industry and Trade also issued a document requesting the units managing and operating the power grid in the province to ensure stable and safe power supply during Tet and major political and cultural events in 2025. Accordingly, ensure regular, continuous and safe power supply, avoid power shortages in any situation; prepare human resources and materials to quickly resolve power incidents, have backup power supply plans; focus on fire prevention in public places, residential areas, and entertainment areas. Promote the application of information technology in processing and receiving requests for electricity services, especially requests to resolve power incidents.
In addition to the efforts of the Electricity industry, each person needs to raise awareness of using electricity safely, effectively and economically to avoid overload, unsafe power grid and local power outages.
