Phong Nam ancient village is nearly 10km from the center of Da Nang city. This place is likened to a picture of an ancient Vietnamese village with ancient houses, brick-paved roads and friendly, simple people.
About 10km south of the center of Da Nang city, Phong Nam ancient village (Hoa Chau commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang) is one of the rare villages in the city that still retains the pristine features of an ancient Vietnamese village with hundred-year-old houses, bamboo banks, rice fields, communal houses and the simple, honest lifestyle of the people.
The place name Phong Le appeared during the Ho Dynasty in 1404 in Da Ly region (almost covering the entire area of Hoa Vang district today). In the first year of Thieu Tri (1841), the name Da Ly was changed to Phong Le, which can be considered "a pioneer village in reclaiming and expanding land to the South".
Preserving the ancient features, Phong Nam village captivates those who love nostalgia. Coming to Phong Nam ancient village, visitors will enjoy the peaceful feeling, floating with the faint scent of rice, listening to the rustling wind from the bamboo groves, areca rows, to find the distant memories.
The attraction of Phong Nam ancient village also lies in ancient architectural works such as communal houses, pagodas, temples, ancestral shrines, and clan shrines. Currently, the ancestral shrine has 17 clans, including clans such as Tu Le, Ngu Ngo, Phung, Ong, Nguyen, Vo, Tran Nhi, Phan, Bui... and has a village memorial tablet.
In particular, Phong Nam village also preserves and maintains the ancient Eunuch Temple built in the style of a stilt house, which is believed to have been built more than 500 years ago. The Eunuch Temple was built with 4 rosewood pillars, thatched roof, and then built with lime mortar, covered with yin-yang tiles, covered with ancient moss over time.
In particular, recently Phong Nam village (Da Nang) has also implemented an ecological agricultural community tourism model.
This is a type of tourism that helps visitors, especially children, experience many ecological activities with a strong rural character.
Children enjoy folk games and making cakes recreated in the ancient village of Phong Nam.
Adults and parents alike are fascinated by the games here.

Quynh Nhu (Quang Tri) shared: "I have known about Phong Nam ancient village for a long time. Today, I took advantage of my free time to come here to take a set of photos. The space here is quiet and the air is fresh, I really like it." Photo: Minh Anh
Phong Nam ancient village is a tourist destination not to be missed when coming to Da Nang. This place not only brings interesting experiences but also an opportunity to learn about the culture and history of Vietnam.
