The 3rd Hue City Traditional Boat Race will take place on March 23

(Fatherland) - On March 14, the People's Committee of Hue City informed that the 3rd Hue City Traditional Boat Racing Tournament will be held on March 23, 2024.

According to the People's Committee of Hue City, the 3rd Hue City Traditional Boat Race in 2024 is held to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024), the 78th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam Sports Industry (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2024), the 49th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Thua Thien Hue (March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2024), towards welcoming the Hue Festival 2024.

The purpose of the boat race is to continue to respond to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", while maintaining and developing the traditional national sport of the people of Hue city.

The tournament will be opened and competed on March 23, 2024 on the Huong River and Dong Ba River (Trinh Cong Son Park Area, Hue City). The tournament will be participated by male and female athletes from wards and communes in Hue City with 12 competing boats (bamboo boats, 9 people). There will be 9 races with a swimming distance of 700m - 800m/lap.

For the Offering and Breaking (3 laps, 6 turns): Starting at the mandarin's table in Trinh Cong Son Park - flipping the Ron round - returning to the Upper round on Dong Ba River - returning to the Lower round on Huong River (Con Hen side) - flipping the Ron round to reach the finish line; For the male and female Tien rounds and mixed male and female rounds (2 laps, 4 turns): Starting at the mandarin's table in Trinh Cong Son Park - flipping the Ron round - returning to the Lower round on Huong River (Con Hen side) - returning to the Upper round on Dong Ba River - flipping the Ron round to reach the finish line.
