The survey team included representatives of leaders and specialized departments of the Ha Long Bay Management Board and representatives of 8 travel businesses in the province. The team surveyed the tourist attractions on the VHL3 and VHL4 itineraries such as Tien Ong Cave, Cua Van area, Co Cave, Vung Vieng area, etc.
The survey team experienced rowing a boat in Cua Van area.
Currently, there are 8 sightseeing itineraries in Ha Long Bay according to Decision No. 2119/QD-UBND dated July 19, 2024 of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province on the announcement of sightseeing and tourism itineraries in Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. Each sightseeing itinerary has its own potential and strengths for tourism development: Itineraries VHL1, VHL2 are characterized by a rich cave system (Thien Cung Cave, Sung Sot Cave...), unique landscapes (Dinh Huong Islet, Trong Mai Islet) and diverse tourism services (rowing boats, kayaking, speedboats); itineraries VHL3, VHL4 are characterized by pristine, peaceful landscapes and focus on many impressive cultural tourism products (Tien Ong Cave - the home of prehistoric people, the only archaeological exhibition site in Ha Long Bay; Cua Van, Vung Vieng - places to display and demonstrate the unique culture of fishermen...). However, in reality, over the past years, the number of tourists mainly visiting VHL1 and VHL2 with traditional tourism products (visiting caves, swimming in the sea) has led to a situation where some tourist attractions are locally overloaded during peak times (Thien Cung Cave, Sung Sot Cave, Ti Top Beach, Luon Cave...).
After the field survey, the survey team had a meeting to discuss and agree on solutions to promote development opportunities and attract tourists to the VHL3 and VHL4 tours in Ha Long Bay. Representatives of travel agencies said that although they regularly develop tourism products to market tourists to Ha Long Bay, they mainly focus on marketing tourism products on the VHL1 and VHL2 tours; most businesses do not know about the potential and attractive tourism resources of the VHL3 and VHL4 tours in Ha Long Bay.
The survey team visited the exhibition area at Tien Ong cave.
Through the field survey, travel businesses highly appreciated the potential for tourism development on the VHL3 and VHL4 itineraries in Ha Long Bay and affirmed that they will actively discuss and mobilize their partners in building and promoting tourism products on the VHL3 and VHL4 itineraries to attract tourists in the coming time.
The Ha Long Bay Management Board also pledged to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to create favorable conditions and actively accompany businesses in building and promoting new tourism products on the VHL3 and VHL4 journeys in Ha Long Bay.
