VnExpress Marathon Hue launches purple jersey

The VnExpress Marathon Hue jersey and finisher are inspired by the purple sunset and the characteristics of Nguyen Dynasty royal architecture.

Runners participating in VnExpress Marathon Hue 2024 on April 21 will wear a racing jersey with two versions: T-shirt or Singlet. The design uses purple - pink tones, inspired by the sunset on the Huong River and the color of the parasol flowers blooming every April.

"When runners from all over come to the ancient capital in April to participate in the VnExpress Marathon, it is also the time when the parasol flowers begin to bloom on the streets of the Citadel. Along with the characteristic purple color, we have created a jersey with this color," shared a representative of the design team.

The details are inspired by the enamel imprints of royal architecture and the details on the Nhat Binh shirt. With the T-shirt version, the gradient color bands gradually change from pink to purple as highlights on the two sleeves. In the Singlet design, the color bands appear on the two shoulders of the shirt, running continuously to the back. "This highlight combined with the clear color bands below the body creates a visual effect of near and far and creates depth for the shirt's space," the design team shared.

This year, in the tournaments of the VM system, the Organizing Committee will use microfiber fabric. This type of fabric has antibacterial properties, limits sweat odor, is thin, airy, and suitable for outdoor sports activities.

The organizers evaluated that after testing on many different materials, this is the fabric with the most advantages. The fabric is less wrinkled, less frayed, retains its softness, has a long life, does not lose shape, and does not fade over time when used properly.

In addition, the shirt uses heat transfer printing technology so it can print a variety of designs and patterns. The heat ink penetrates each fabric fiber, has high color fastness, clear images, does not fade when washed, and does not break when stretched. The product belongs to the Newton brand, distributed by Key Power Sports Viet Nam.

Similar to previous tournaments, runners participating in the 21km and 42km distances will receive a finisher shirt after completing the valid race. The shirt also has purple as the main color, the 42km distance is blue, while the 21km athletes will receive a purple-yellow shirt.

VnExpress Marathon Hue takes place on April 21. Currently, the race is offering Bib tickets at a 15% discount for all distances on the occasion of March 8. After applying the discount, the ticket prices for the four distances of 5, 10, 21 and 42km are VND807,500, VND977,500, VND1.2 million and VND1.6 million respectively.

This year, the race has adjusted the route. The starting point of the four distances is Le Duan Street (near Nha Do Gate), the finishing point is near Quang Duc Gate. The race will pass through many famous relics, bearing the mark of the ancient capital. Interested readers can register here.
