Experts say gold prices will fall further

At 10:30 p.m., the world gold price was 3,042 USD/ounce. Compared to the peak of 3,167.8 USD/ounce, the world gold price has decreased by 125 USD/ounce (equivalent to 3.92 million VND/tael) in just two days.

This afternoon, the news that China announced an additional 34% tax on all US goods from April 10 only caused the world gold price to increase for a few short hours. After that, the world gold price turned to decrease.

Expert Tran Duy Phuong said that the news of China's retaliatory tariffs will only temporarily increase the price of gold. The gold trend will decrease to 2,929 USD/ounce in April and 2,789 USD/ounce in May.

On gold forums, many investors expressed surprise that the world gold price has "run" so fast in recent days, sometimes evaporating up to 90 USD/ounce in just a few hours.

At the current price, converted according to the listed exchange rate at the bank, the world gold price is equivalent to 95.28 million VND/tael.

According to analysis, the world gold price fell sharply after reaching an all-time record, not only because investors took profits according to the market rule of "selling when news comes out", but also because investors had to sell gold to cover stock losses.

Global stocks have been in the red for the past two days after US President Donald Trump announced "reciprocal" tariffs.

Domestic gold price evaporated 900,000 VND/tael today

Domestically, at the end of today, the selling price of SJC gold bars decreased by another 200,000 VND/tael, to 101.3 million VND/tael. Thus, today, the price of SJC gold bars decreased by a total of 900,000 VND/tael.

The buying price decreased by 700,000 VND/tael, to 98.8 million VND/tael.

Meanwhile, today, the price of 9999 gold rings at SJC Company decreased by 800,000 VND/tael, to 101.2 million VND/tael. The buying price was 98.7 million VND/tael, down 700,000 VND/tael compared to the end of yesterday.

At PNJ Company, the selling price of SJC gold bars and gold rings both decreased by VND900,000/tael today, to VND101.3 million/tael. The buying price of SJC gold bars was VND98.8 million/tael. Meanwhile, the buying price of gold rings was VND100,000/tael lower.

At Bao Tin Minh Chau Company, the price of 9999 gold rings decreased by 700,000 VND/tael, to 101.6 million VND/tael, while the buying price fell to 99 million VND/tael.

Compared to the converted world gold price, the domestic gold price is about 6.1 million VND/tael higher, a sharp increase compared to previous days because the domestic gold price decreases more slowly than the world gold price.

The difference between buying and selling gold prices is very large, in some places up to 2.6 million VND/tael.
