Gold prices remain almost flat after leaving historic peak

For gold rings, Saigon Jewelry Company Limited set gold rings of type 1-5 at only 99.2 million VND/tael (buy) - 101.5 million VND/tael (sell), unchanged from the end of yesterday.

Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company continues to set the price at 99.2 million VND/tael (buy) - 101.5 million VND/tael (sell).

Meanwhile, Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited reduced 300,000 VND/tael (buying) and 100,000 VND/tael (selling), down to 99.5 million VND/tael (buying) - 102.2 million VND/tael (selling).

Previously, on April 1, domestic gold prices initially increased sharply. The price of SJC gold bars reached a historical peak of VND99.9 million/tael (buy) - VND102.6 million/tael (sell), but by the end of the day it had dropped to VND99.4 million/tael (buy) - VND102.1 million/tael (sell).

The price of gold rings also reached an all-time high of VND100.4 million/tael (buy) - VND102.7 million/tael (sell), and by the end of the day it was VND99.8 million/tael (buy) - VND102.3 million/tael (sell).

On the international market, last night, the price of gold reached 3,145 USD/ounce - an all-time high, then dropped sharply as investors took advantage of the situation to sell and take profits.

Early this morning, the price of precious metals was trading at 3,113 USD/ounce, lower than the same time yesterday by over 10 USD/ounce. At 9:00 a.m., the price of gold was trading at 3,133 USD/ounce.

In the foreign exchange market, the State Bank of Vietnam announced the central exchange rate of VND to USD, applicable for April 2, 2025, is 1 USD = 24,851 VND, an increase of 16 VND compared to April 1.

However, BIDV decreased by 10 VND, down to 25,450 VND (buy) - 25,810 VND (sell). Vietcombank kept the same level of 25,460 VND (buy) - 25,820 VND (sell).
