Pig prices increased across the board
Pig prices are on an upward trend in all three regions. On January 20, in the North, pig prices were stable, fluctuating between 56,000 - 58,000 VND/kg. Of which, the highest transaction price in the region and the whole country was 58,000 VND/kg, recorded in Hanoi.
The lowest transaction price in the region was 56,000 VND/kg recorded in Lao Cai and Nam Dinh. The price of live pigs in the remaining localities was stable at 57,000 VND/kg.
In the Central and Central Highlands regions, the price of live pigs fluctuates between 51,000 - 56,000 VND/kg. In particular, the price of live pigs in the provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, Dak Lak and Ninh Thuan ranges between 51,000 - 55,000 VND/kg.
After increasing by 2,000 VND/kg, live pigs in Lam Dong are trading at 54,000 VND/kg. Live pig prices in the remaining localities are stable. Of which, 56,000 VND/kg is the highest transaction price in the region currently in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An; other localities fluctuate between 51,000 - 52,000 VND/kg.
In the Southern region, the price increased from 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg, fluctuating between 50,000 - 54,000 VND/kg. After increasing by 2,000 VND/kg, the price of live pigs in Dong Nai increased to the highest level in the region at 54,000 VND/kg. The price of live pigs in Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, and Vinh Long increased by 1,000 VND/kg, all reaching 53,000 VND/kg, equal to Vung Tau.
Currently, large enterprises are still adjusting the selling price of pork. The price of live pigs of Vietnam Joint Stock Company in the North has reached 62,500 VND/kg, much higher than the price at the markets. This may cause the price of live pigs at the markets to maintain the upward trend in the coming days.
Pork prices at supermarkets stable, imported meat drops sharply
According to the statistics of supermarkets in Hanoi, pork prices are still quite stable. The number of customers is quite large, supermarkets are launching promotions to attract customers. Meanwhile, pork prices at traditional markets are increasing by 2,000-5,000 VND/kg depending on the type.
Specifically, the price of boneless ham is 125,000 VND/kg, cut ribs are 189,000 VND/kg, pork belly is 139,000 VND/kg, ground lean meat is 112,000 VND/kg, thigh meat is 85,000 VND/kg, and lean loin is 110,000 VND.
With BaF Meat vegetarian pork, ribs cost 180,000 VND/kg, shoulder costs 99,000 VND/kg, shoulder meat costs 99,000 VND/kg, belly costs 150,000 VND/kg, thigh meat costs 99,000 VND/kg, crispy shoulder costs 145,000 VND/kg, lean loin costs 114,000 VND/kg, tail bone costs 52,000 VND/kg, ground meat costs 99,000 VND/kg, lean flank costs 249,000 VND/kg...
Compared to 1 month ago, the prices of BaF pork basically remain the same.
The price of frozen meat is only at 39,000 - 79,000 VND/kg. Specifically, frozen pig's feet cost 39,000 VND/kg, frozen ham costs 59,000 VND/kg, frozen tail costs 79,000 VND/kg, frozen ribs cost 39,000 VND/kg.
Compared to 1 month ago, imported frozen ham decreased by 6,000 VND/kg, frozen tail decreased by 23,000 VND/kg, frozen ribs decreased by 10,000 VND/kg.
