The People's Committee of Kon Plong district (Kon Tum) has just held the inauguration ceremony of the cultural communal house in Kon Leang village, Mang Den town.
The project is built in the traditional communal house architecture, with concrete foundations, pillars and stone-paved floors; wooden floors, steps and walls; natural thatched roof. The total investment cost is over 786 million VND.
In Tu Mo Rong district, the government and people joined hands to build traditional communal houses and long houses at Tu Tho community tourism village.
Chairman of Tu Mo Rong District People's Committee, Mr. Vo Trung Manh, emphasized: "The communal house and long house are not only places for community activities but also preserve traditional cultural values of our ancestors. Along with the Central Highlands gong - a world cultural heritage, the communal house always attracts tourists to explore and learn."
In Gia Lai, people of Ha Tay commune, Chu Pah district, are proud of the two largest traditional communal houses in the Central Highlands.
In particular, the communal house of Kon So Lah village is made entirely of precious wood, still retaining its traditional features with thatched roofs, wooden columns and beams despite facing the wave of concretization.
The communal house is not only a sacred symbol but also represents protection for the community, bringing peace and bountiful harvests. In front of the majestic communal house, the village elder places a gong to signal important events or festivals.
This is also the place to hang certificates of merit recognizing the academic and work achievements of the village's children, contributing to preserving national cultural pride.
Preserving and promoting the value of communal houses not only preserves cultural identity but also promotes community tourism in Gia Lai and Kon Tum.
Visitors coming here can not only admire the unique architecture of the communal house but also immerse themselves in cultural festivals and enjoy unique gong melodies.
