DNVN - Today's live pig price increased slightly in all three regions, ranging from 64,000 to 69,000 VND/kg.
Northern pig price
Lao Cai today recorded a slight increase, raising the price of live pigs here to 68,000 VND/kg, bringing the price in this area to fluctuate from 67,000 to 69,000 VND/kg. Specifically:
In Bac Giang and Hanoi, the price remained unchanged at VND69,000/kg. Lao Cai increased by VND1,000 to VND68,000/kg, while Hung Yen and Ninh Binh had the lowest price in the region at VND67,000/kg.
Other provinces such as Yen Bai, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho and Thai Binh maintain the level of 68,000 VND/kg.
Pig price in Central Highlands
The price of live pigs in this region increased by 1,000 to 2,000 VND/kg in Nghe An and Ha Tinh, while the remaining localities did not fluctuate. The price fluctuated between 66,000 and 69,000 VND/kg.
Lam Dong leads the region with a price of 69,000 VND/kg. In Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh and Dak Lak, the price increased to 68,000 VND/kg.
Localities such as Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam recorded the lowest level in the region, reaching 66,000 VND/kg.
Southern pig price
The South continues to witness strong price increases in many places, with prices ranging from 64,000 to 69,000 VND/kg.
In Dong Nai and Tay Ninh, the highest price of live pigs in the region reached 69,000 VND/kg. Binh Phuoc and Tien Giang recorded an increase of 1,000 to 4,000 VND, reaching 68,000 VND/kg.
Kien Giang and Tra Vinh increased by 3,000 VND, to 67,000 VND/kg. Soc Trang and Bac Lieu increased by 1,000 VND, to 66,000 VND/kg.
Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau had no fluctuations, maintained at 68,000 VND/kg.
In the context of high demand for meat on the occasion of Lunar New Year, the price of live pigs today continues to increase nationwide. It is forecasted that on January 6, 2025, the price of live pigs will likely increase in some southern localities due to strong increase in purchasing power.
According to experts, farmers need to focus on managing production costs, especially feed prices, to ensure stable profits. Closely monitoring the market and adjusting the appropriate time to sell pigs is also recommended, especially during the peak consumption period at the end of the year.
Biosafety pig farming project in Lang Son
On December 31, SHG One Member Co., Ltd. held an inauguration ceremony for a biosafety pig farm in Don Xa village, Hoa Binh commune, Chi Lang district, Lang Son province, according to Lang Son Newspaper.
This is the first large-scale biosafety pig farming project in Chi Lang district, starting construction in November 2023, with a total area of over 14.6 hectares, owned by SHG One Member Co., Ltd.
The project has a capacity to raise 1,250 sows and 9,000 pigs per litter, with a total investment of VND 183.7 billion. The farm will be completed in December 2024 and officially put into operation.
Built with automation technology, the project not only optimizes operational efficiency but also contributes to environmental protection through a standard odor and wastewater treatment system. A water recycling and reuse system is also deployed, ensuring a sustainable water source for long-term livestock farming.
