Currently, Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Thai Binh provinces still maintain transactions at the highest price in the country at 63,000 VND/kg.
Pig price in Central Highlands
The Central Highlands market continued to have no change in selling price this morning, purchasing from 58,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.
Therefore, traders in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Lam Dong are trading live pigs at 61,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region.
Pig price in the South
Pig prices in the South today range from 59,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.
In particular, Ben Tre is currently the province with the lowest pork price in the region at 59,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, Dong Thap, Can Tho and Soc Trang are still the localities with the highest prices in the region at 62,000 VND/kg.
Overall, the live hog market is gradually stabilizing nationwide. According to the latest survey, the price of live hogs nationwide is currently fluctuating between 58,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.
According to experts, the live hog market is showing signs of stabilizing after a long period of volatility. Some localities are likely to continue to move sideways in the coming days as the market gradually stabilizes. However, fluctuations may occur if market demand increases or supply suddenly changes.
According to the Bac Kan Provincial Portal, on October 25, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Thu Trang signed Decision No. 1855 on providing an additional 26 billion VND from the provincial budget reserve in 2024 to the People's Committees of districts and cities to support livestock farmers affected by African swine fever and lumpy skin disease this year.
According to a report by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Kan province, from the beginning of the year to the end of August, the province recorded 3,720 livestock households in 688 villages in 8/8 districts and cities with pigs infected with African swine fever.
The total number of pigs culled in Bac Kan province as of August 31 reached 19,174, equivalent to 710,181 kg of culled pigs; the number of culled pigs in need of support was 18,816, equivalent to 692,220 kg.
In addition, in 16 villages in Ba Be and Ngan Son districts, a total of 49 households were recorded to have lumpy skin disease in cattle. Of these, 7 cows were destroyed, equivalent to a destroyed weight of 795 kg; the number of culled cows in need of support was 6, equivalent to a destroyed weight of 776 kg.
