Connecting universities with businesses to commercialize science and technology products

On April 11, Quy Nhon University in collaboration with Hanoi University of Science and Technology organized the 60th Science and Technology Club (S&T) conference of technical universities in 2025.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Tung - Rector of Quy Nhon University, delivered the opening speech.

In his opening speech, Associate Professor Dr. Doan Duc Tung - Rector of Quy Nhon University, said that with the theme "connecting in research, transferring and commercializing scientific and technological products", the conference has practical significance, is timely and suitable for the context of the country promoting innovation, digital development and deep integration.

“As centers of knowledge, universities and academies need to proactively connect research with practice, closely link with businesses and localities, bring research results to life, contribute to solving major social problems and sustainable national development,” Associate Professor, Dr. Doan Duc Tung emphasized.

The Rector of Quy Nhon University hopes that the workshop will be a forum for exchanging experiences in research and technology transfer. Sharing effective cooperation models between schools - institutes - enterprises.

Mr. Do Tien Thinh - Deputy Director of the National Innovation Center (NIC), shared at the workshop.

At the same time, discuss policies to promote the commercialization of science and technology products. Contribute to concretizing the goals in Resolution 57 of the Politburo and Resolution 03 of the Government on science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

“The organizers hope that through the workshop, many initiatives, cooperation models and practical scientific and technological products will be formed, opening up new directions for the club's member schools, businesses and the community,” Associate Professor, Dr. Doan Duc Tung expected.

The 60th Science and Technology Club Conference of Technical Universities in 2025 was organized into 3 sessions: field trip session, plenary session and club meeting.

During the field trip, delegates visited science centers and technology enterprises at Quy Hoa Science Urban Area, Quy Nhon City.

At the plenary session, delegates shared and focused on discussing 4 important reports from member schools and technology businesses.

Dr. Bui Duc Quang - Deputy General Director of TMA Technology Group, shared about the university-enterprise cooperation model on training and research in artificial intelligence.

The Club meeting had 4 presentations and the delegates witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation (VEAM) and Hanoi University of Science and Technology and a group of member schools of the G32 network.

At the conference, the Club also admitted 3 new member schools, including: Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, Viet Tri University of Industry and Dai Nam University; bringing the total number of Club members to 32.

The Science and Technology Club of Technical Universities was established in 1992. Up to now, the Club has the participation of 32 schools and institutes nationwide. The purpose of the Club is to strengthen the connection and cooperation between technical universities in science and technology activities and exploit the science and technology potential of each school to serve training, scientific research and technology transfer, actively contributing to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.
