Pig prices today in the Northern region remain stable across the board.

Localities such as Bac Giang, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Tuyen Quang all recorded unchanged prices compared to the previous day, fluctuating around 65,000 - 66,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region

The pig market in the Central Highlands region has clear differentiation.

While many provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan kept the same price, ranging from 65,000 - 72,000 VND/kg, some localities recorded a decrease.

Specifically, the price of live pigs in Nghe An decreased by 1,000 VND/kg to 65,000 VND/kg, Lam Dong and Binh Thuan both decreased by 1,000 VND/kg to 72,000 VND/kg, Dak Lak also decreased by 1,000 VND/kg to 69,000 VND/kg.

In the Southern region

The southern live hog market recorded a dominant downward trend. Most provinces and cities saw a decrease of 1,000 to 2,000 VND/kg.

Provinces and cities such as Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Vinh Long (down 1,000 VND/kg to 72,000 VND/kg), Binh Duong also reduced 2,000 VND/kg to 70,000 VND/kg.

Long An adjusted down 1,000 VND/kg to 71,000 VND/kg. Similarly, Dong Thap, Kien Giang, Tien Giang and Tra Vinh all reduced 1,000 VND/kg to 73,000 VND/kg.

With the same decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, Ca Mau and Bac Lieu brought the price down to 75,000 VND/kg and 74,000 VND/kg respectively.

Meanwhile, An Giang had a sharp decrease of 2,000 VND/kg to 71,000 VND/kg, Can Tho and Soc Trang also decreased by 2,000 VND/kg to 73,000 VND/kg.

Only Binh Phuoc, Hau Giang and Ben Tre maintained stable prices compared to yesterday.

Focus on preventing and controlling African swine fever

Since the beginning of 2025, 16 African swine fever (ASF) outbreaks have occurred in Long An province. To prevent ASF from continuing to break out and spread widely, the Long An provincial Department of Agriculture recommends that farmers focus on applying biosecurity measures, disease prevention and hygiene, and should not restock massively, according to the Long An provincial electronic information portal.

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, recently, in the province, there were 2 outbreaks of ASF in Tan Tru and Tan Hung districts with 48 infected pigs. Up to now, ASF has occurred in 16 households in 12 communes of 7 districts (Tan Hung, Thanh Hoa, Ben Luc, Tan Tru, Vinh Hung, Chau Thanh, Moc Hoa) with a total of 509 pigs destroyed, with a total destroyed weight of 24,982.6 kg.

Mr. Truong Cong Tai (Binh Tinh commune, Tan Tru district) has 2 pig pens with a total of 57 pigs. Of which, pig pen 1 has 46 pigs with normal health and pig pen 2 has 11 sick pigs.

“After discovering that the pigs in the second barn were sick, I reported to the local authorities to destroy and isolate the area to prevent the disease, protecting the pigs in the first barn. Up to now, 46 pigs in the first barn are still healthy and are monitored and checked for health daily,” said Mr. Tai.
