The live hog market in the Central Highlands region today, April 1, 2025, recorded a fairly stable development with a slight downward trend in some localities. Specifically, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Ninh Thuan witnessed a decrease in live hog prices of VND 1,000/kg, bringing the prices to VND 65,000/kg, VND 66,000/kg and VND 72,000/kg, respectively.

The highlight is that the Central Highlands and some southern provinces of the Central region such as Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan have much higher prices, ranging from 70,000 to 73,000 VND/kg, in which Lam Dong and Binh Thuan lead with 73,000 VND/kg.
The general trading price range of the region is in the range of 65,000 - 73,000 VND/kg, showing clear differentiation between provinces. The slight price decrease in some places may stem from local supply and demand adjustments, while provinces with high prices such as Lam Dong and Binh Thuan may be benefiting from stronger consumption demand or different production costs. Overall, the live pig market in the Central Highlands - Central region is currently maintaining relative stability, although downward pressure on prices has begun to appear sporadically.

Live hog prices in the region ranged from 72,000 to 76,000 VND/kg, with Ca Mau leading at 76,000 VND/kg, although down 1,000 VND/kg compared to before. Provinces such as Can Tho, Bac Lieu and Soc Trang also recorded quite high prices at 75,000 VND/kg, but Can Tho decreased by 1,000 VND/kg. Some provinces such as Binh Phuoc, Vinh Long, Kien Giang, Ben Tre and Ca Mau all saw prices decrease from 1,000 to 2,000 VND/kg, with Vinh Long having the sharpest decrease of 2,000 VND/kg, bringing the price to 73,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, areas such as Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Thap, An Giang, Hau Giang, Tien Giang and Tra Vinh kept prices stable, ranging from 73,000 to 74,000 VND/kg. Binh Duong and Long An were at a lower level with 72,000 VND/kg but there were no fluctuations.
In general, the southern live hog market still maintains a higher price than the northern and central highlands, but the scattered downward trend in some provinces shows that price adjustment pressure is emerging, possibly due to abundant supply or stagnant consumption demand. However, the price difference within the region still reflects the specific supply and demand characteristics between localities, with the Mekong Delta region standing out in terms of peak prices.

DMolten Nam is also not out of the downward price trend, with many localities significantly adjusting prices: Binh Phuoc and Ben Tre down to 72,000 VND/kg, Vinh Long down to 73,000 VND/kg, Kien Giang down to 74,000 VND/kg, Can Tho reached 75,000 VND/kg and Ca Mau down to 76,000 VND/kg, bringing the general price of the region to fluctuate from 72,000 to 76,000 VND/kg.
Overall, the live hog market today is on a sharp decline, with domestic prices recorded at around 65,000 - 76,000 VND/kg. This trend shows a fairly strong adjustment period, possibly due to excess supply or slowing domestic and export demand. The price difference between regions still exists, with the South maintaining the highest price, while the North is under greater downward pressure. If this situation persists, farmers may need to consider reducing production or finding new consumption channels to avoid the risk of losses in the coming time.
