Domestic coffee prices are forecasted to increase again tomorrow, December 11, 2024, after a decline at the beginning of the week.

In addition, experts also commented that the global coffee market trend is still low supply compared to the increasing consumer demand. Moreover, the current harvest in many places has not yet reached its peak, reaching only about 30% and farmers are not under economic pressure, so the recent price drop did not cause a sell-off. Therefore, when the world market recovered, domestic prices increased sharply again.

According to Reuters, despite the peak harvest season, domestic coffee prices in Vietnam are still rising due to high demand and limited supply. In the two months since the new harvest began, farmers in the Central Highlands have only harvested about 20% of the coffee output.

According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association, Vietnam exports coffee to more than 80 countries; of which 10 markets have a turnover of more than 100 million USD. The European Union (EU) continues to be Vietnam's largest coffee export market in the 2023-2024 crop year, with a value of 2 billion USD, up 41% over the previous crop year, accounting for 38% in volume and 37% in turnover in Vietnam's coffee exports.

Regarding coffee prices, according to the Vietnam Coffee - Cocoa Association, in early December 2024, coffee prices increased on two world trading floors.

Analyzing the current world and domestic coffee prices, experts say that the sharp increase in coffee prices is due to increasingly limited supply and increasing demand. Some major coffee exporting countries in the world, such as Vietnam, Brazil, etc., are affected by drought.
