Gen Z and its advantages

Gen Z or Generation Z is the group of people born between 1995 and 2012 (some say from 1997 to 2015). The most widely recognized age range is the years of birth 1997-2012. Most Gen Z are children of Gen X (born between 1965 and 1979), the next generation after Millennials (Generation Y) and before Generation Alpha (α).

According to the General Statistics Office, by 2025, Gen Z is expected to contribute to 1/3 of the working-age population in Vietnam. When Gen Z decides to stick around, it will be a great breakthrough creativity for businesses. Therefore, how to take advantage of and unleash this energy is an important problem.

The International Labor Organization (ILO) predicts that in the coming years, the number of new jobs created by digital transformation will be seven times greater than the number of jobs lost.

By 2045, an estimated 10 million new jobs will be created, mostly in modern service industries and a number of new jobs in manufacturing. These characteristics make Gen Z an effective labor source for businesses.

Opportunities always come with challenges as the labor market is fiercely competitive. Because of early access to the Internet, Gen Z easily embraces technological innovation. When entering the internship or working stage at companies, especially companies in the fields of media, technology, and digital, Gen Z easily keeps up with the work.

Plus, businesses don’t need to spend a lot of time and resources educating them on tech tricks. Gen Z has unique and surprisingly effective content creation ideas.

It can be said that this is the generation born and raised in the era of rapidly developing information technology. They have the ability and skills to access, process and share information quickly and effectively.

Therefore, Gen Z will be an important factor in the future labor market. They will be able to quickly adapt to the development of new technology, bringing many innovations, creativity and efficiency to different career fields.

In contact with many young people, I have noticed that the Gen Z generation has two most obvious differences: open-mindedness and the spirit of independence, daring to think and dare to do. Being exposed to different cultures in a flat world environment has helped Gen Z young people have more open perspectives, and integrate more easily with foreign knowledge and culture. This helps them easily overcome traditional frameworks to reach out to the world.

In addition, the digital age has created many opportunities in a number of new technology fields, and Gen Z is easily able to catch up with this trend. Therefore, many young people have successfully started their own businesses, helping Gen Z become more confident in realizing their ambitions.

The biggest opportunity for Gen Z at the moment is probably the dethronement of new technology fields and professions that require a lot of creativity compared to traditional jobs that require a lot of skilled skills like before.

Youth is a priceless asset

Creativity is something that Gen Z is "in abundance". However, the challenges from these career trends are also huge. Rapid elimination, fierce competition, a constantly changing labor market, or the development of artificial intelligence and robots... are the problems that Gen Z is facing.

Gen Z is creative, dynamic and has good adaptability to new technologies. They can leverage digital skills to create new products and services that meet the needs of modern society. They can collaborate with partners around the world, expand their markets and find more opportunities.

Besides, in my opinion, a big strength of Gen Z is “youth”, mistakes can be corrected more easily. They will have more opportunities to experience and implement their ideas before choosing a longer path in the future.

Gen Z is living in a volatile and competitive world. To adapt to today's labor market, young people need to adjust and equip themselves with some skills.

Specifically, young people need to be able to adapt to rapid and constant changes in technology, need to be flexible, willing to learn and update knowledge continuously. In order to apply knowledge effectively, Gen Z also needs to practice critical thinking and come up with breakthrough ideas.

In particular, Gen Z needs to be able to work in teams with colleagues, partners and customers around the world. Young people of this generation need to practice communication skills, listening and respecting differences. In difficult situations, these skills will be very useful to help them find the right support.

Finally, Gen Z also needs the courage to experiment, fail and learn from mistakes. Youth is a priceless asset, young people need to be able to manage their own time to ensure efficiency and work-life balance. They need to have clear goals, practice self-assessment skills to improve themselves and, most importantly, the skills to take care of their health, spirit and emotions.
