Meeting and giving gifts to international students from Laos, Cambodia, Mozambique, and Korea

At the meeting, Chairman of the Board of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy Nguyen Quoc Tien said that the school was established in 1968 and is a public service unit under the Ministry of Health. In addition to training medical human resources for Vietnam, the school has been assigned by the State to train medical human resources for the Lao People's Democratic Republic since 1969, the Kingdom of Cambodia since 1982, the Republic of Mozambique since 2016 and to receive training for studying abroad in Korea since 2020.

To date, the school has trained 1,143 doctors for friendly countries. Many doctors and pharmacists have graduated and become PhDs, Masters, and Specialists. Many have held important positions and responsibilities in the State and the Lao and Cambodian health sectors and have continuously cultivated, protected, and enhanced the friendship between nations, contributing to the Party's foreign affairs, State diplomacy, and people's diplomacy of the Party and Government.

At the end of the 2022-2023 school year, the school had 87 international students graduating and returning to work in their home country. In the 2023-2024 school year, the school had 444 international students, including 286 Laotian students, 152 Cambodian students, 5 Mozambican students and one Korean student.

Despite differences in language, culture, and customs, over the years, international students have always strived to study, conduct scientific research, and integrate into Vietnamese culture.

In addition to the attention and direction of the Government, ministries, departments and branches, Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy has received a lot of help and support from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Thai Binh province, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Thai Binh province, the Vietnam - Laos, Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Thai Binh province and the province's mass organizations in both material and spiritual terms for the school, especially for international students.

Every year, on the occasion of the traditional Vietnamese New Year, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province organizes meetings, presents gifts and sends best wishes to international students, creating many favorable conditions for them to have the best living and studying conditions.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee Lai Van Hoan and leaders of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations presented Tet gifts to representatives of overseas students from Laos, Cambodia, Mozambique and South Korea.

In addition, the Vietnam - Laos, Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Thai Binh province also organized exchange activities, met with overseas students on the occasion of the traditional New Year of the host country and on the occasion of the overseas students graduating and preparing to return home; gave gifts to overseas students who did not return home on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Vietnam.

The meeting took place in a joyful and exciting atmosphere, thereby encouraging the spirit of international students studying in Thai Binh province and contributing to strengthening the special, loyal and close friendship between the people of the countries.
