Meeting with leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, some sectors and fields; generals and some typical businesses who are from Thai Binh

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, on the morning of January 28, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee organized a meeting with leaders and former leaders of the Party and State; Deputy Ministers and equivalent or higher who are working in a number of sectors and fields; generals and some typical businesses who are from Thai Binh.

Attending the meeting were comrades: Tran Quoc Vuong, former Politburo member, former Standing member of the Secretariat; Nguyen Khac Dinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Luong Quoc Doan, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union; Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of Military Region 3.

Reviewing the outstanding results of Thai Binh province in 2023 and the first half of the term of implementing the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress, Comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: In the context of many difficulties and challenges; however, with high determination, great efforts of the entire political system, the joint efforts and consensus of all classes of people and the business community, Thai Binh has achieved outstanding achievements in all fields. The economy continues to grow well, with an average of 8.18% in the period of 2021 - 2023, of which 7.37% in 2023; The economic structure and labor structure have shifted in a positive direction, the proportion of industry, construction and services in the total product in the area (excluding product tax) increased from 72.5% in 2020 to 78.9% in 2023. Disbursement of public investment capital continues to be among the top in the country; attracting foreign investment (FDI) has achieved impressive results. The total registered investment capital in the area in the period of 2021 - 2023 reached 153,011 billion VND, 3.5 times higher than the period of 2016 - 2020; in 2023 alone, the total capital of investment projects in the province reached over 98,000 billion VND, 4.6 times higher than the same period in 2022; In particular, attracting foreign investment has grown remarkably. 2023 is the first year that FDI attraction reached 3 billion USD, the highest ever and ranked 5th nationwide in terms of FDI capital attraction. The province has completed the task of planning Thai Binh province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, ensuring quality, science, vision with many orientations, breakthroughs, new developments and has been approved by the Prime Minister. The new rural construction program is in-depth and effective. By the end of 2023, the whole province has 34 communes meeting advanced new rural standards and 1 commune meeting model new rural standards. Cultural and social fields are directed comprehensively and in-depth; national defense, security and social order and safety are maintained stably. The work of Party building and the political system has changed positively; the leadership capacity of Party organizations, the management effectiveness of the government apparatus, and the quality of activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and people's organizations have been improved.

The former Standing Member of the Secretariat wished the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Binh to continue promoting the tradition of solidarity, revolution, culture and civilization to build Thai Binh to become increasingly strong and exemplary in all aspects; at the same time, he hoped that those who are far from home would continue to pay attention to their homeland and actively contribute to building Thai Binh to become increasingly prosperous.
