According to Decree 152 of the Government on the treatment of Vietnamese coaches and athletes when competing in sports, gold medals, silver medals, and bronze medals won at the SEA Games will be rewarded with 45 million VND, 25 million VND, and 20 million VND respectively. Breaking a national record will be rewarded with an additional 20 million VND.
The Vietnamese swimming team won 7 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals. Including 6 individual gold medals, 1 relay gold medal in the men's 4x200m freestyle (with 4 athletes, each athlete received 45 million VND); 3 individual silver medals; 6 individual bronze medals, 1 relay bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle. The total amount of money that the swimming team's athletes received was 725 million VND. The coaches (including the team's direct coach and related grassroots coaches) received 595 million VND. The total swimming team received 1 billion 320 million VND. The diving team received the most with 3 billion VND in prize money.

Nguyen Thi Oanh won 4 gold medals, equivalent to 180 million VND from the state's reward fund.
The men's relay team of the swimming team won gold medals. Each athlete received 45 million VND.
Pham Tien San won the gold medal in the mixed event and received 45 million VND. Phuong Trinh won the silver medal in the women's mixed event and received 25 million VND.

The men's volleyball team won a bronze medal. The amount received was 360 million VND, of which 280 million VND was for 14 players.
The Vietnamese women's 3x3 basketball team won a gold medal and a bonus of 270 million VND, including 180 million VND for 4 players Nguyen Thi Tieu Duy, Huynh Thi Ngoan, Truong Thao My, and Truong Thao Vy.
The athletics team won 12 gold medals (10 individual gold medals, 2 relay gold medals), 20 silver medals (19 individual silver medals, 1 relay silver medal), and 8 bronze medals. The total award for the athletics team was 2 billion 860 million VND. Of which 1 billion 545 million VND was for the athletes; 1 billion 315 million VND was for the coaches (direct coaches and grassroots coaches).
The triathlon team won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal, and was awarded 260 million VND (athletes received 150 million VND). The gymnastics team won 4 gold medals (3 individual gold medals, 1 team gold medal with 6 people), 2 silver medals. The prize money was 810 million VND, including 495 million VND for the athletes and 315 million VND for the coach. The kun bokator team won 6 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and a prize money of 660 million VND (330 million VND for the athletes).
The diving team won 1 individual silver medal, with a prize of 50 million VND, including 25 million VND for the athlete and 25 million VND for the coach. The fencing team won 4 gold medals (all team gold medals), 3 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals. The total prize money was 1.53 billion VND (including 990 million VND for the athlete and 540 million VND for the coach). The vovinam team won 7 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal, with a prize money of 2.39 billion VND (1.565 billion VND for the athlete and 825 million VND for the coach).
