Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC), the world's leading telecommunications solutions provider, has launched the 'EricssonEdge Academia' program with the aim of revolutionizing the development of young human resources in the telecommunications sector in Southeast Asia, Oceania and India.
With the explosion of cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, AI and IoT, many studies show that technology-related jobs are growing at the fastest pace globally. To address this trend, Ericsson has designed a talent development program to support young talent entering the telecommunications industry and contribute to Ericsson’s graduate recruitment strategy in Southeast Asia, Oceania and India.
The program will equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills in 5G, Cloud and AI technologies, helping them develop themselves and become pioneers in the rapidly changing telecommunications landscape. Each course lasts for 6 months, providing an intensive learning experience for final year students from over 40 leading universities in India, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam.
With a combination of face-to-face sessions delivered by Ericsson experts and online modules in the second and third months, students will participate in regular tests to assess their progress and level of knowledge acquired throughout the course. These modules not only enrich the learning experience but also provide a comprehensive understanding of cutting-edge technologies, preparing students for a solid career in the telecommunications industry. Students who successfully complete the programme will have the opportunity to join the Ericsson Graduate Recruitment Program in the region.
Priyanka Anand, Vice President and Head of HR, Southeast Asia, Oceania & India, Ericsson, said: “EricssonEdge Academia is a clear example of effective collaboration between industry and academia in developing the next generation of telecommunications professionals. By equipping students with the skills they need to succeed, we are not only enhancing their career prospects but also ensuring the continued advancement and competitiveness of the telecommunications industry.”
