(NLDO) - He always taught us to welcome true emotions when entering the profession and life.
37 years old! I have been away from school, away from the time of "if you want to cross the bridge, you have to build a bridge, if you want your children to be well-educated, you have to love their teachers" for more than a decade. To compose each word to tell about a teacher who taught me when I was in school is, in fact, not an easy thing.
My teacher – talent and passion
My respect for my teachers is still intact, but the most vivid and genuine emotions have forever remained in the farewell hug when I left Vinh Long to start a career in Ho Chi Minh City.
So you must be wondering who I will write about in this contest entry, when the topic is still about a real-life teacher model? I would like to choose a separate path to have a precious space on this newspaper page, to express for the first time my gratitude and respect for the artist - friend - and above all the best words to describe the relationship - that is my current teacher: Actor Le Nguyen Tuan Anh.
Since April this year, I have registered for the Drama Actor class at Hong Van Drama Theater. Because I started a few days late, I caught up quite slowly compared to the other students in the class. Another reason why I feel slow is that I am 15 years older than my classmates. A huge generation gap when living together, but teacher Tuan Anh said that "Art has no distance, especially age" . I have heard that saying before, but from the teacher's eyes, I began to believe it was true! Just like the way he taught me to believe in each role on stage.
My teacher Tuan Anh is also a voice actor, so his voice is both deep and rich in expressive nuances. As Gen Z people say now, it is very "catchy", listening to him makes me immediately drawn into his story. Every time he demonstrates a line on stage, the tone of his voice is like "nailed" into my mind, when I get home I have to practice over and over again so that I can speak like him. There are evenings when he puts aside all his personal matters to "work overtime" to practice with each student in the class, polishing each sentence, each word, practicing each movement carefully so that each student can have the best role in the semester exam. Because the practice is late at night, everyone is hungry, the teachers and students together order fried fish balls and lemon tea, eating and practicing together.
My teacher - full of love
There were several times when my friends invited me to participate in short plays on stage. I often asked for help: "Teacher, I'll send you the script I wrote, can you help me edit it?", and immediately the message back was "Ok ok" from teacher Tuan Anh. Sometimes he even asked back: "Why haven't you sent the script yet? I'm waiting to edit it so you guys can be confident." These were very ordinary and intimate conversations, but they contained a lot of the teacher's concern for his students, a lot of the artist's passion for the performing arts.
In the "treasure" of stories about Mr. Tuan Anh, there are also moments of confusion when we made him angry. That was when we (including me) did not practice seriously, the lessons he assigned for homework we ignored because we prioritized other things in life, or sometimes because we were just having fun. The world behind the stage has a lot of emotional magic, it is really easy to pull us away from the purpose of serious study. One day, in class, the teacher was so angry that he wanted to leave the class. I saw disappointment in his eyes, in every word, but he did not leave the class but chose to give us more opportunities to correct ourselves. I realized that teachers are not only people rich in knowledge but also people who possess many "opportunities" to give to their students, without limits, just in return for a bright future for the person they teach.

Perhaps, the stories I told above are not like the way of telling a teacher, but more like a peer. But that is a very genuine feeling, and among all the names of the bond between me and Tuan Anh, the word "teacher" is always the first name that I think of, with a very special respect. The teacher not only passed on the flame of passion for art, but also accompanied us to bring our dreams to the finish line. He is the one who helped me expand the concept of "teacher", open my heart to receive special emotions when I first entered the magical world of art.
I don't know how happy my teacher was every time I bragged "Teacher, our group got to stand on stage to perform", or "Teacher, today U (teacher - People's Artist Hong Van) praised this skit for its meaning"... but every time we sat in the audience watching him transform into a character on stage, we just wanted to shout out loud "That's our Teacher Tuan Anh, everyone". That was a feeling of endless pride, both respectful and close. And that was also our admiration for Teacher Tuan Anh.
Teacher, thank you for everything!
