In the villages of Binh Dao commune, popcorn is a favorite of children and young people. Many families still make this snack for their own use. However, no one has thought of bringing this dish far and producing it in large quantities like Ms. Phan Thi Phuc, a native of Binh Dao. Ms. Phuc shared that this was the dish of her childhood and until now, her family's children all love it because of its delicious and attractive taste.
Realizing the market demand, Ms. Phuc started making more to sell to relatives near and far in her hometown. Unexpectedly, the increasing consumption urged her to find ways to import raw materials and invest in equipment to produce more to supply customers.
She also finds ways to sell popcorn to agents, food stores, cafes, and snack shops in and outside Thang Binh district...

Ms. Phuc’s Bao Tram popcorn facility pays close attention to input materials, prices, and product quality. Each box of popcorn is sold at 8,000 VND so that everyone can access it.
Since January 2021, production and business have not only helped Ms. Phuc develop her family's economy but also created additional jobs for 3 workers. The product is also oriented by the People's Committee of Binh Dao commune to become an OCOP product, in addition to black sesame oil, Huong Lan sticky rice, De Vuong wine, etc.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Thuong (a member of Bao Tram butter popcorn production facility), the ingredients of Bao Tram butter popcorn products include corn, butter, sugar, cheese, ginger... Input materials are carefully selected, ensuring safety for consumers' health.
The product is packaged, vacuum-sealed, contained in a kraft paper bag weighing 450 grams/box, with full information about the product and place of manufacture.

Bao Tram popcorn has many flavors such as traditional flavor (roasted butter), along with other flavors such as cheese, green tea, chocolate... The traditional flavor is also quite great when the popcorn kernels are roasted to a golden color, fragrant, with the fatty taste of butter...
The best-selling time of the year is usually the rainy season. During these months, Bao Tram corn and butter facility imports an average of 4-5 quintals of raw corn per month for production. In the remaining months, stable production is maintained to ensure supply.
The product has dominated the market of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai, present from upstream to downstream of the two provinces.
“Bao Tran's popcorn production idea received a certificate of merit at the 6th "Creative Startup Ideas" contest in 2024 organized by the Women's Union of Thang Binh district.
We are currently making efforts to renovate production facilities, standardize processes, perfect products, build brands, labels... to bring products to OCOP standards in the near future" - Ms. Thuong shared.
