Tourists eagerly take photos next to a 200-year-old cotton tree in full bloom in Bac Giang

These days in March, from early morning to late afternoon, many people and tourists have come to the ancient cotton tree by the Thuong River in Bac Giang to take pictures.

The flowers of the kapok tree are a bright red color, lighting up the dike, next to the poetic winding river creating a beautiful scene like a painting of a peaceful countryside.

According to the reporter of Voice of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper, thousands of red cotton flowers bloom brilliantly, lighting up the whole area, becoming a check-in coordinate attracting tourists from all over to come here to admire.

Every time the kapok trees are in full bloom, a large number of visitors come here, mainly women wearing ao dai to leave memories every time the kapok flowers bloom in March.

A female tourist said: "This place has a very peaceful scene, completely opposite to the hustle and bustle of urban life, making me and my friends feel like we are reliving the feeling of our childhood days, blending in with the image of the countryside river, the dike and the cotton trees...".

According to the records of this heritage tree, the tree is over 27.5m tall, has a canopy area of ​​nearly 300m2 and a trunk diameter of about 2.4m.

No one knows exactly when this lonely cotton tree was built, but according to some locals, it is over 200 years old.

When coming to admire and take photos with the cotton tree at Ba Co temple, visitors can visit many famous tourist attractions nearby such as Vinh Nghiem pagoda, Kem pagoda, Truc Lam Phuong Hoang Zen Monastery...

Previously, in 2021, the Ba Co temple kapok tree in Lang Son commune was recognized by the Vietnam Ornamental Plants Association as an "Ancient tree with historical and cultural value".
