Dong Nai uses 'golden land' for parking lots

The 5,700 m2 "golden land" lot with two frontages in the center of Bien Hoa City was renovated into a free parking lot while waiting for the auction.

In recent days, the construction unit has been planting trees, making sidewalks, and paving the ground to soon complete the 5,700 m2 parking lot on two fronts of Cach Mang Thang Tam and Vo Thi Sau streets, Quyet Thang ward.

This land was previously the site of Dong Nai General Hospital and the Provincial Health Protection Board. After the hospital moved to its new headquarters on Dong Khoi Street, the land was transferred to the Provincial Land Fund Development Center. In 2022, the land was auctioned for VND158 billion but was not sold, so the Bien Hoa City People's Committee proposed that the province "temporarily borrow" it to make a free parking lot for residents.

Bien Hoa City People’s Committee Chairman Do Khoi Nguyen said that once the parking lot is completed, all cars from businesses, hotels, schools and religious establishments in the surrounding area will be able to park for free. The city also put up no-parking signs on Vo Thi Sau and Cach Mang Thang Tam streets near the parking lot, contributing to ensuring order and beauty.

In addition to being used as a parking lot before the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, the above land is also a place for people to exercise and organize cultural and artistic activities of suitable scale. Previously, many prime land plots on Phan Van Tri Street (2,000 m2) and Hung Dao Vuong Street (3,700 m2) were also converted into parking lots by Bien Hoa authorities.

According to the leaders of Bien Hoa City, the locality will soon propose to the Provincial People's Committee to include this land in the planning of the city's park and parking lot system to serve the people. In addition, many other prime lands will be adjusted to become parks and parking lots to create open landscapes and open spaces to serve the community.

The "frozen" real estate market has made it difficult to auction "golden land" in Dong Nai. Not only in Bien Hoa, many plots of land with prime locations in Cam My, Trang Bom, Long Thanh also encountered difficulties when auctioning. Among them, many plots of land were auctioned for the second time without any participating units.
