From 3:00 p.m. on February 1, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND201/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND140/liter. At the same time, diesel oil decreased by VND948/liter; kerosene decreased by VND671/liter and fuel oil decreased by VND250/kg.
Prices of domestic petroleum products all decreased during the operating period on February 1 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), in which some products decreased by nearly 1,000 VND/liter.
According to the joint decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, from 3:00 p.m. today, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND201/liter, to VND20,391/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND140/liter, the new price is VND21,002/liter.
In this adjustment, diesel oil decreased the most by 948 VND/liter, to 19,246 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 671 VND/liter, selling price was 19,439 VND/liter and mazut oil decreased by 250 VND, to 17,502 VND/kg.
During this period, the joint ministries did not set aside or use the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products. As for the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the Price Stabilization Fund (BOG) at the enterprise was VND 3,081 billion, unchanged from the most recent announcement period.
Previously, in the operating period on January 23, E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 158 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by 78 VND/liter. However, diesel oil increased by 412 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 404 VND/liter, and mazut increased by 571 VND/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the period of petroleum price management will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, implemented every Thursday.
In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday coincides with the remaining holidays, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday./.
