Humanitarian Month 2023 is associated with the movement "Good people, good deeds - Joining hands to build a compassionate community" with the theme "From the heart of each of us - Joining hands to build a compassionate community", taking place from May 1 to 31, peaking from May 8 to 19 with the goal of helping 5,000 or more people in difficult circumstances.
Humanitarian Month includes many practical and meaningful activities such as giving gifts, health insurance cards, scholarships to students and people in difficult circumstances; building humanitarian works, boarding houses, repairing "Clean kitchen - Delicious rice" points at kindergartens and primary schools with especially difficult conditions, building charity houses, etc.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, along with acknowledging and appreciating the humanitarian and charitable activities, comrade Ngo Thanh Danh requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, agencies, businesses, philanthropists, and people of all walks of life continue to coordinate, support, and accompany the Provincial Red Cross Association, providing increasingly more effective assistance to the poor, people in difficult and disadvantaged circumstances.
The Red Cross Society continues to promote its role as a bridge and coordinator in humanitarian and charitable activities; a trusted address for people of all walks of life, individuals and organizations to place their trust and share their contributions in humanitarian activities. The Society promotes cooperation and effectively implements humanitarian foreign affairs, attracting many resources and support from the business community inside and outside the province for the province's humanitarian activities.
At the launching ceremony, agencies, businesses and philanthropists presented humanitarian support during the Humanitarian Month to 2 Emulation Clusters of the Dak Nong Provincial Red Cross Association with a total value of nearly 2 billion VND; presented 3 Red Cross houses worth 70 million VND/house to 3 poor households; supported the repair of 1 "Clean Kitchen - Delicious Rice" point for Le Van Tam Primary School, Nghia Thang Commune, worth 150 million VND; presented 30 scholarships, worth 1 million VND/scholarship to 30 poor students of Dak R'lap District.
In addition, the Red Cross Society also organized a "zero-dong market" to distribute 200 free shopping vouchers, each worth 500,000 VND, to poor people.
With the form of gift vouchers at the market, people can freely choose essential items such as: rice, oil, MSG, fish sauce, candy... for their families.
This is a meaningful activity, aiming to propagate and gradually change awareness of humanitarian work, promote humane behavior among all classes of people. Thereby, deploying activities to mobilize resources, build funds to support vulnerable groups in the community, contributing to building a humane community.
