(NADS) - On September 13, after days of facing floods, people in Thac Ba town, Yen Binh, Yen Bai continued to recover and return to normal life despite many difficulties.

Down in the residential area at the Cultural - Sports Center of Thac Ba town, houses are still submerged in water, the flood rose up to 2 meters in some areas. Most of the houses here have been evacuated by the authorities to different locations.

Water has been rising in residential group 4, Thac Ba town, Yen Binh, Yen Bai for the past 5 days. Many houses were flooded up to the roof and had to be evacuated to houses on the hill to stay. Many houses had to swim to get into their houses.

Since the flood, the electricity has been completely cut off. People travel by boat and raft to get food from neighboring houses. It takes half a day to reach the Cultural House by raft.

The water level gradually decreased, and people also started cleaning up after the flood.

In Thac Ba town, there were no casualties, but most of the wood workshops suffered heavy property damage.

In Residential Group 4, Thac Ba town, water has gradually receded in many places.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen's family has 4 members including her husband, her eldest son who is in 10th grade this year and her youngest daughter who is in 8th grade this year and is a gymnast for the Ministry of Public Security.

Washing clothes in flood water, wearing the same clothes over and over again for several days because she couldn't get inside the house, but Ms. Quyen remained optimistic.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong shared: "The water rose to more than half of the house, fortunately there was only minor material damage. Besides, it was very heartwarming to see people all over the country caring for each other, coming to provide relief supplies and help people."
