By the end of 2023, Nghe An's socio-economic situation continued to achieve many positive results, with an economic growth rate of 7.14%; the economic structure shifted positively and in the right direction. The industrial production index increased by 9.5%, total export turnover was estimated at 2.88 billion USD, an increase of 13.52% compared to 2022.
In 2023, the total state budget revenue will be VND 20,250 billion, exceeding the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council. In 2023, the disbursement of public investment capital will reach 95.11% of the plan. Notably, the satisfaction index of people and businesses (SIPA) ranked 14th in the country, up 21 places compared to 2021.

The results recorded the important contribution of small and medium enterprises in Nghe An province. The Association of Small and Medium Enterprises in Nghe An province has 19 member associations. After the 3rd Congress, the Association held a meeting and assigned vice presidents to be in charge of clusters of districts, cities and towns to promptly encourage enterprises to exchange experiences and help each other.

Identifying the role and importance of training and supporting capacity building for businesses, the Provincial Association of Small and Medium Enterprises is interested in organizing management and digital transformation training sessions for businesses in district associations. Providing guidance on labor regulations, collective labor agreements, new regulations on retirement age, and salary policies according to the provisions of the 2019 Labor Code; Managing risks of electronic invoices and value added according to Decree 123/2020/ND-CP; Managing financial accounting and tax...

The Association always receives recommendations and proposals from enterprises in the production and business process and sends them to the Provincial People's Committee and related departments, branches and sectors to promptly resolve difficulties for enterprises.
Last year, the Association and businesses also responded to emulation movements launched by the Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, supporting flood victims, Tet for the poor, and building charity houses with a total amount of up to tens of billions of VND.

In 2023, the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Quy Hop, Do Luong, Thai Hoa, Dien Chau districts... actively operated and contributed to the local economic and social development.
In addition to the achieved results, the activities of the Association and its member associations have not been truly effective. The quality and business efficiency of member enterprises and entrepreneurs have not had any breakthrough development. The connection between member enterprises is still not sustainable, the number of strong enterprises with large capital and many workers is still small...

Speaking at the conference, Mr. To Hoai Nam - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises said that in the context of an extremely difficult economy, the results achieved by the Association and the Nghe An business community in the past time are very remarkable.
In order for the Association to be a true bridge between the business community and the government, a "common home" for businesses, in the coming time, it is recommended that the Nghe An Provincial Association of Small and Medium Enterprises continue to improve the quality of association organization building, further promote the role of the executive committee, and properly implement the regulations and charters, in order to build truly strong association organizations.


Focus on developing members along with strengthening the activities of grassroots organizations; Strengthen training, fostering, and disseminating professional and legal knowledge; promote exchange activities, share experiences, promote investment, and advertise products. At the same time, focus on participating in giving opinions on building policies and laws and protecting the interests of businesses.
We have received the opinions of businesses, associations, and the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises. We will continue to pay attention to helping the business community quickly recover and develop strongly and sustainably in the coming time.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals of the Nghe An Association of Small and Medium Enterprises for their outstanding achievements in association activities in 2023 and launched a campaign to support the Tet Fund for the Poor in 2024.
