The Committee for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution is an organization of neighborhood committees across Cuba, established by leader Fidel Castro on September 28, 1960, to detect and crush all anti-revolutionary plots of hostile forces at home and abroad, and to protect Cuba's young revolutionary government after the 1959 revolution.
The delegation from Vietnam, from the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, was warmly welcomed by the entire Congress. Speaking at the opening of the Congress, comrade Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Chairman of the Committee for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution affirmed: In the new term, the Committee for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution will continue to firmly follow the revolutionary path of President Fidel Castro, innovate the content and methods of operation, build a strong organization from the Central to the grassroots, focus on mobilizing the people to make efforts to develop the economy, overcome difficulties caused by the enemy's embargo, protect and promote the achievements of the Cuban revolution.
On this occasion, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and the delegation of Nghe An province met with the leaders of the Cuban Revolutionary Defense Committee of Holguin province - the hometown of President Fidel Castro. At the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation opportunities to promote potential and open up activities in the fields of agriculture, trade, education, health care, etc. between the two provinces.
On behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong presented Holguin province with some documents about President Ho Chi Minh and 5,000 USD to equip some additional working facilities for Hoiguin province.
