High-ranking delegation of Champasak province visits THACO Chu Lai

Informing the high-ranking delegation of Champasak province, the representative of THACO Office in Chu Lai said that after 27 years of establishment and development, THACO has grown to become a multi-industry industrial group consisting of 6 member groups: THACO AUTO, THACO INDUSTRIES, THACO AGRI, THADICO, THISO AND THILOGI.

In Laos, THACO has invested in a large-scale agricultural complex in the direction of circular integration with a total area of over 27,000 hectares in Attapeu and Sekong provinces. As for Champasak province, although no projects have been implemented, THACO has cooperated with a number of businesses in this province to deliver and transport goods to Vietnam.

Comrade Tran Nam Hung - Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee said that the visit and working session was an opportunity for Quang Nam, Champasak and THACO to identify potentials and advantages for cooperation. At the same time, he proposed that the leaders of Champasak province act as a bridge for Champasak and THACO enterprises to meet and promote cooperation and development. When THACO came to research and invest in Champasak, the provincial leaders continued to pay attention and create favorable conditions.

“Quang Nam and Champasak are located on the East-West Economic Corridor, with many advantages for border economic cooperation associated with logistics development and goods exchange. For smooth cooperation, infrastructure must be well-equipped. Through this meeting and working session, I hope Champasak will join Quang Nam in having a stronger voice so that the two governments pay attention to investing in National Highway 14D to the Nam Giang - Dac Ta Ooc International Border Gate and other routes on the East-West Economic Corridor in the southern Lao provinces,” suggested comrade Tran Nam Hung.

Secretary - Governor of Champasak Province Alounxai Sounnalath said that through monitoring, THACO has 3 very important pillars: industry - agriculture - logistics. Meanwhile, Champasak is a province with favorable climate, guaranteed irrigation system, ... very suitable for agricultural development. Besides, Champasak is the center of the southern provinces of Laos, located on the East-West Economic Corridor, with border gates with Cambodia and Thailand. The province also has many scenic spots, including the world heritage Wat Phou.

To promote cooperation with THACO and Quang Nam enterprises, Comrade Alounxai Sounnalath agreed with Comrade Tran Nam Hung's viewpoint on infrastructure investment on the East-West Economic Corridor route from Northeast Thailand through Southern Laos to Central Vietnam. At the same time, he hoped that THACO would research and invest in the agricultural sector in Champasak, especially in developing fruit trees; expand cooperation in logistics development to transport goods from Southern Laos to international markets through Chu Lai port.

On this occasion, leaders of Champasak province and THACO presented souvenirs. The high-ranking delegation of Champasak province also visited the automobile manufacturing and assembly areas at THACO and Chu Lai port.
