On January 2, the Traffic Police Department of Quang Ngai Province Police said it had handed over Mai Hoang Th. (21 years old, residing in Pho Khanh Commune, Duc Pho Town) to the Investigation Police Agency of Duc Pho Town Police for investigation and handling according to authority.
Previously, receiving a report of a traffic accident on National Highway 1, in Pho Cuong Commune, Duc Pho Town, Mr. LTT (51 years old, in Pho Cuong Commune) was seriously injured. Duc Pho Traffic Police Station promptly arrived at the scene to take Mr. T. to the emergency room. However, due to serious injuries, Mr. T. died.

The motorcyclist who caused the accident fled the scene.
The task force was assigned to examine the scene and trace the vehicle that caused the traffic accident and fled.
By gathering information from cars on the road as well as from medical facilities in the area, the authorities discovered a young man having his wound examined at Dang Thuy Tram General Hospital (Duc Pho town).
The working group of Duc Pho Traffic Police Station was present at the hospital to verify. At this time, Mai Hoang Th. was being examined, checked for a head injury and confessed to being involved in a previous traffic accident.
Mai Hoang Th. confessed that he was driving a motorbike in the same direction and hit Mr. T., causing him to fall onto the road, but did not save the victim and instead drove away from the scene.
The case is currently being further investigated by Duc Pho Town Police.
