Forum to promote cooperation and connectivity between the three economies of Vietnam and Thailand

On March 15, in Udon Thani province, Northeast Thailand, the Vietnam - Thailand - Japan Trade and Tourism Connection Forum took place.

Vietnamese businesses in Thailand and Japan signed a cooperation agreement at the forum.

This is the first activity organized by the two Consulates General of Vietnam in Fukuoka (Japan) and Khon Kaen (Thailand) in coordination with business associations, Vietnamese associations, and the Vietnamese business community in Japan and Thailand.

Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; representatives of Udon Thani province leaders and a large number of Vietnamese business communities in Thailand and Japan.

Speaking at the opening of the forum, Ms. Vu Chi Mai, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, said that in the context of the world and the region facing many traditional and non-traditional challenges, the Vietnamese business community, whether at home or abroad, is having to find ways to solve these difficulties and challenges.

Therefore, the forum is an opportunity for businesses to access the market, seek strategic partners and expand business activities in the region.

Ms. Vu Chi Mai emphasized that the event also contributes to enhancing the position and image of the Vietnamese community in the international arena, serving as a bridge to help the Vietnamese business community abroad connect with the homeland and preserve Vietnamese cultural identity.

More than 100 businesses attending the forum, mainly overseas Vietnamese businesses in Thailand and Japan, were provided with information on potential areas of investment cooperation in all three countries of Vietnam, Thailand and Japan, focusing on the fields of tourism, logistics, food production and processing, technology and innovation, renewable energy, supporting industries and electronic components.

These fields are also expected to contribute to promoting cooperation and connecting the three economies of Vietnam, Thailand and Japan.

According to Mr. Dinh Hoang Linh, Consul General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen, the three countries of Japan, Thailand and Vietnam have many cultural similarities with cultural exchange activities and trade and investment promotion that are increasingly developing strongly.

He also assessed that Fukuoka province, the northeastern region of Thailand and central Vietnam could become an important economic triangle, with real benefits for economic development in the region.

Within the framework of the forum, Thai and Japanese enterprises signed four cooperation agreements in the fields of developing business networks between Thailand and Japan; developing human resources between Thailand and Japan; and cooperation in developing trade and import-export between Japan, Vietnam and Thailand.

Mr. Vu Hoang Duc, Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association, said that after the conference, he will immediately participate in activities to promote Vietnamese and Thai goods to Japan, as well as transfer technologies related to high-tech food.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ho Van Lam, Chairman of the Thai-Vietnamese Business Association in Thailand, expressed his joy at the results achieved at the forum, saying that the event will expand business opportunities for Thai-Vietnamese businessmen in Japan.
