Dien Bien pays tribute to heroic martyrs in Con Dao district

Provincial leaders and members of the working delegation respectfully expressed their gratitude at the tomb of General Secretary Le Hong Phong.

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, the delegation of Dien Bien province respectfully bowed to offer fresh wreaths, lit incense sticks, and expressed their infinite gratitude for the great contributions of the heroic martyrs at the two cemeteries: Hang Duong and Hang Keo.

The delegation burned incense at the grave of Hero Vo Thi Sau.

Hang Duong Cemetery is associated with the Special National Relic Site - Con Dao Prison, the resting place of thousands of steadfast revolutionary soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people. The cemetery consists of Area A with 688 graves, including 7 mass graves and the graves of revolutionary martyr Le Hong Phong and patriot Nguyen An Ninh. Area B has 695 graves and the graves of heroine Vo Thi Sau and hero Cao Van Ngoc. Area C has 373 graves and Area D has 157 graves gathered from Hon Cau and Hang Keo cemeteries. Hang Keo Cemetery is the resting place of about 10,000 steadfast, indomitable fathers and brothers, ready to sacrifice themselves for the independence of the country.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Giang Thi Hoa offered incense to pay tribute to heroic martyrs.

After the incense offering and flower offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs, the delegates went to offer incense at the grave of the late General Secretary Le Hong Phong, the grave of heroine Vo Thi Sau and each grave of the heroic martyrs.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang offered incense at the graves of martyrs at Hang Duong Cemetery.

Before the souls of predecessors and heroic martyrs, on behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Dien Bien province, the provincial leaders expressed their wish to continue following the example of previous generations, continuing the revolutionary tradition, patriotism and national pride; upholding the spirit of responsibility, promoting the will of self-reliance and the strength of great national unity to protect and build the Fatherland to become increasingly rich, civilized and sustainably developed.

Delegation of Dien Bien province visited Con Dao Prison.

On the same day, the delegation visited historical sites and red addresses in Con Dao district to learn from their experiences, such as Con Dao Museum and Con Dao Prison. On this occasion, Dien Bien province donated 20 million VND to the Gratitude Fund of Con Dao district.
