DNO - On December 28, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province announced that it has proposed 2,545 billion VND to invest in upgrading and expanding National Highway 14B (the section through Quang Nam province from Km32+126 - Km74 from Dai Hiep commune, Dai Loc district to Thanh My town, Nam Giang district) with a length of 41.9 km.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province has just sent a document to the Ministry of Transport proposing an investment plan to upgrade and expand National Highway 14B through Quang Nam province.
It is known that National Highway 14B (also known as Ho Chi Minh Road East Branch) is part of the main East-West connecting axis in the northern area of Quang Nam province. This axis is part of the ASEAN road network, starting from Tien Sa Port (Da Nang) to Nam Giang - Dac Ta Ooc International Border Gate and connecting to Laos.
This route intersects with National Highway 1 (at Hoa Cam), Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway and National Highway 14G (at Tuy Loan, Da Nang), Ho Chi Minh Road and Truong Son Dong Road (at Thanh My, Quang Nam).
This is the route serving the transportation of transit goods in Southern Laos and Northeastern Thailand through Tien Sa Port (Da Nang), Tam Hiep Port (Quang Nam), and Chan May Port (Thua Thien Hue).
National Highway 14B is 74km long, starting at Tien Sa Port, Da Nang city, ending at Thanh My, Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province.
The section through Da Nang city from Km0 - Km32+126, the section through Quang Nam province from Km32+126 - Km74 (from Dai Hiep commune, Dai Loc district to Thanh My town, Nam Giang district) has the following current status:
Section 1 from Km0 - Km24+633 (Tien Sa port to Tuy Loan) is currently operating with a scale of 6 lanes.
Section 2 from Km24+633 - Km32+126 (Tuy Loan to Dai Hiep commune, Dai Loc district) is currently operating with 2 lanes. Currently, the Ministry of Transport and Da Nang city are jointly investing in expanding it to 6 lanes.
Section 3 is located in Quang Nam province from Km32+126 - Km74 from Dai Hiep commune, Dai Loc district to Thanh My town, Nam Giang district) 41.9 km long, with only 2 lanes (9m roadbed).
Currently, the traffic volume on National Highway 14B is increasing rapidly, but the section through Quang Nam province has not been expanded or upgraded. The People's Committee of Quang Nam province respectfully proposes an investment plan to upgrade and expand National Highway 14B through Quang Nam province (41.9km long) with an estimated investment of about VND 2,545 billion. Of which, the main route is VND 1,290 billion and the service road is VND 1,255 billion.
