Urgent measles vaccination for children
Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan highly appreciated the epidemic prevention and control work in Da Nang, and emphasized that the city has a large number of migrants, so it is necessary to proactively respond to epidemics in all situations, not only with measles but also with other infectious diseases.
He asked hospitals to develop procedures for responding to infected cases, from triage, isolation and treatment to infection control, to limit cross-infection. At the same time, medical units must strictly follow the instructions of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Health.
The Department of Health must ensure adequate medicine and medical equipment; hospitals must increase training and support lower-level hospitals in diagnosing and treating measles and infectious diseases. Treatment rooms must be well-ventilated to reduce the risk of infection.
The Center for Disease Control needs to speed up the measles vaccination process, and hospitals need to prepare enough medicine and medical equipment. The Department of Disease Prevention will coordinate with the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute to ensure vaccine supply.
