Proposal to convert nearly 67 hectares of forest land to implement the Upper Krong Pach Reservoir Project

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak province has just submitted a document to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision to change the purpose of forest use to another purpose to implement the Upper Krong Pach Reservoir Project (phase 1).

Accordingly, the total forest area proposed to change its purpose of use is 66.59 hectares, of which natural forest is 5.97 hectares and planted forest is 60.62 hectares.

The locations that need to be converted include: plot 1, sub-area 698; plot 1, 2, sub-area 701; plot 1, 2, 8, 9, sub-area 689, Cu Bong commune; plot 7, sub-area 692, Cu Yang commune; plot 4, sub-area 693; plot 3, 5, 5A, 6, sub-area 687B, Cu Elang commune and the section through M'Drak district, including plots 2, 3, sub-area 794; plot 1, sub-area 803, Cu San commune; plot 6, sub-area 788; plot 6, sub-area 789, Krong A commune.

It is known that the Upper Krong Pach Reservoir Project (phase 1) is invested by the Irrigation Investment and Construction Management Board 8 for the headworks and canal system from the main canal to the lower canal with an irrigation area of ​​over 150 hectares; survey, design and other costs related to the Project.

Dak Lak Province's Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Transport Works and Rural Development is the investor in the compensation, site clearance, resettlement, and canal system components with an irrigation area of ​​less than 150 hectares.

Total investment capital for phase 1 is more than 4,400 billion VND, from government bond capital, implementation period from 2009 - 2025.
